Fast, reliable, 8TB version to be released later in 2025
First, this is a PCIe 5.0 x4, not PCIe 4.0. It will work fine on PCIe3.0 and PCIe4.0, but you may want to consider a cheaper version if you don’t have a newer system as you will likely be somewhat limited - if not due to the link speed, then due to the power of your CPU, which is likely to be slower on PCIe 3.0 and PCIe 4.0 systems. Should you get this or stick to Samsung 9xx Pro? Depends how important money is to youNote that Samsung states that an 8TB version will be released later in 2025. Some may want to wait for that depending on their use

It's awesome!
I can confirm this product is genuine. I would suggest if Samsung Magician doesn't detect the drive as genuine, to update to the latest version 8.x. I was initially bummed out because Samsung Magician Ver. 7 detected this memory as 'unrecognizable' but after updating, it detected and confirmed the serial # was genuine. Also, if you're on windows 11 and can't open Samsung Magician, add --no-sandbox to the end of the desktop shortcut like this → "C:\Program Files (x86)\Samsung\Samsung Magician\SamsungMagician.exe" --no-sandbox

Zoooooooom
Crazy how fast stuff loads. Love it. Absolutely noticeable even over a gen4 SSD, and those were already super fast.It gets a bit hot but every gen5 SSD is going to get hot.If I was trying to be frugal I'd probably spend the extra money over a gen4 SSD on something else e.g the GPU, but I'm not, so I'm happy.

Super Fast SSD!
Come Gen 5 SSDs. Super fast. A bit expensive but will go down in price later I'm sure. I love the speeds and of course it's Samsung so what else is there more to say? Running a 14900k on the Asus Aorus Pro X.

Gen 5 to GEN 5 Upgrade
Overall, seem like a geat NVMe SSD. replaced tthe T705 1TB for a 9100 PRO. SSD speeds may not be the max as it shows on the box. verys on user Motherboard bandwidth. Motherboard is a Gigabyte Z790 AORUS MASTER EATX LGA1700. its Max interface is Gen 5x8, while 9100 PRO is Gen 5x4. Recommnd a Clean install of WIndows 10 Home 64 bit. SSD must be installed in the First SSD slot near the CPU. ....TheSamsung 9100 PRO SSD is backwards compatible with PCIe 4.0 and 3.0 x4 interfaces. While it is designed for PCIe 5.0 slots, it can be used in older PCIe 4.0 and 3.0 slots, but performance will be limited by the slower interface.Intel Core i9-14900KFSamsung 9100 PRO 1TB SSDCorsair Dominator Titanium 96 GB (6600MHz XMP 1)Corsair iCUE LINK H170i LCDMSI GAMING X SLIM GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16 GBCorsair 7000D AIRFLOW ATX Full Tower CaseEVGA SuperNOVA 1000G XC 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified

2025 Review - Samsung 5.0 or Samsung 4.0 (U Can't Lose)
No question, Samsung has outdone themselves with this monster. I'm showing a comparison between the 990pro and 9100pro using CrystalDiskMark (See Photos). Most of my performance will go towards video editing and rendering. But don't wait for a chance to own the best gamin' and streamin' chewing gum stick (m.2).Surprisingly, I'm getting these speed on my ASUS Z690 Formula board from 2 years ago. I used the riser card (finally) that came with the MB, which has PCIE 5.0 capabilities. Then I tricked the BIOS and set both CPU x16 lanes to PCIE 5.0 - resulting in a x8x8 config (no worries). Now the video card is running at true PCIE 4.0 x16 and the 9100pro on riser card is running at crazy speeds (see photo).Lesson learned: do not expect these speeds on a cheap motherboard (MB) or a board that shares m.2 PCIE speeds with a SATA connection. My connections are pure = don't this much destruction beast speeds.Upgrade your motherboard = upgrade your game, life, relationship with the dog, hate for cheaters in the PC world

Good, but not the best gen 5 ssd
I have two Crucial T705 drives, and now this Samsung 9100. I'm running Fedora 42, and while the Samsung gets the same crazy fast read speeds as the T705, it gets only roughly half the speed on sequential write (using kdiskmark). This is somewhat disappointing, although I don't really notice the difference even in large builds.Pros:These drives are in stock in 4TB size, while the T705 is still scarce.Great read speed in a gen 5 slot. It's Samsung.Cons:Slower on writes than the T705.
