McAlpine MACVALVE-1 Self Closing Waste Valve Trap-1.25 inch, White, 1.25-Inch

Replaced a botch up by a so called plumber on our recently (3 years old) new house, so out of warranty. Fitted in 5 minutes all hand tightened, no leaks.... delivery was next day so highly pleased.....

Product as described.

I was getting foul smells from the sewers as my trap was syphoning. I tried an anti syphon trap with the air vent but that didn’t work. I purchased this and no more bad smells. Recommended

How does the water goes through the system? No noises at all superb

The media could not be loaded. This device has three seals. One at each end where it attaches to the pipe, and one in the centre of the device, presumable where the inner workings are. This last seal is leaking, I don't know if I should open this to investigate or send it back as faulty, either way this is not good enough.

Had this installed now on a bath waste pipe for a few months and a foul drain smell that filled my house has completely gone. Simple to fit if you can get at the waste pipe ( mine was in a bit of an awkward spot, but glad I made the effort!)

Great idea, solves a few problems, water traps can fail, clog and are take up more room than this trap. So it's quite good the seal works just as it should. I added the connector to make an inline trap for condescending boiler which it is rated for.It's kind of like a non return valve and trap all in one which is cool but it's quite pricey. It's pretty much a copy of the Hepvo trap.

I had no dislike at all it is a good product
