The Baroque Bohemian Cats' Tarot Paperback – March 1, 2012

Karen Mahoney of Baba Studios re-set the bar for the Tarot deck industry when she began creating and publishing her own line of decks over a decade ago. Her studio, Baba Studios, has long been known for its brilliant interpretations, dense cardstock, rich colors, detailed images and quality packaging and memorabilia which have been standard since the debut of her Prauge, Victorian and Bohemian-Gothic tarot decks. Each of Karen Mahoney's feline heroes and heroines are delightful, prosaic and even witty. Even the cats in the Minor Trumps are portrayed with texture, depth and feeling in rich, jewel-toned colors. This is an engrossing and vivid deck and those who are not cat enthusiasts will find themselves drawn into the fairytale inspired images hidden behind the whimsical avatars of furry friends. The Baroque Bohemian Cat's Tarot is a must-have for tarot collectors. Professional tarot readers may benefit from a study of this deck's RWS based interpretation though Querents (clients) may not profit from the specialized theme.

oh how i thought this was best thing out there and it was so incredibly cute and so adorable to the least out there. it was the best thing out there ever and so cute and so sweet. and the best part of it all is that it was all on cats one of the best animals out there. and of course there are birds if any out there please oh do let me no cause i have a bird and i would love to have some with birds if posssible one day also. and i so believe it was so great so cute so nice and so great to have. it was nice and perfect to the perfection ever out there. i so love you guys are the greatest keep up the great work thanks.

when I ordered the cards I wasn't looking for deep insight of the world, but rather a kind of whimsical kind of deck that still had meaning. That is what I got. I found that the cards made me smile and I highly enjoy looking through them and using them for tarot readings. I have many very serious looking traditional decks and a few oracle and medicine decks, but this is the first one that really made me smile. Life is too short to not have a smile even if your taking your reading seriously. I highly recommend them for the novice or the long time fortune teller, Especially cat lovers. Even if you don't wish to use them for tarot readings just keeping them for the pictures I would see as worth it

I have been using this deck carefully, and considered using these cards for special occasions, but the cards always keep ending up being used on my table. Why? Because the illustrations and colours are very attractive, the interpretations are excellent for reading. Highly well presented and planned, this deck can be used every day as the card quality is strong, the box is a strong protection for them, and the catty-cat-cat-cats 'speak' to me !Buy this deck if you love animals, cats, superb colour schemes and illustrations, good quality cards, and a sense of humour , but deadly serious as a reader. I feel you won't be disappointed at all !

This deck is what got me hooked on Magic Realist Press. The artwork is beautiful and since it is cats in costume, whimsical. The deck is based on Rider-Waite and I really appreciated the creative way of revisioning the cards within their standard meanings. As a frequent tarot reader, it is nice to shake things up a bit. I really appreciate the artistic vision and intelligence of this deck. It is also just pure fun to read with--the cats have their own sort of dignity and I find that their whimsical touches can help me not to take things too seriously. Well done!

Hi, This is one of the most beautiful pictorial set of Tarot cards I own. The cats are so like the real thing though sometimes I have had to guess. Having bred 10 breeds of pedigree cats, most of which are in this pack I thoroughly loved the illustrations and the extra card of the Crystal Ball reader. I have had to buy a pack because I gave the other one I bought to my granddaughter to help get her spiritual 'vibes' going. Thank you to the artist and writer for these cards. Cheers Trixie

The artwork on these cards is simply compelling. They depict a gentle and genteel Tarot, as might be used by someone like the queen who was a lover of Don Juan...what is her name? The Wisdom of Cats, the Philosophy of Cats, the Secret Mysteries of Cats, are all conjured in one's imagination as you gaze at their gardens, their castles, their riches, their costumes. I have shown some of these lovely cards to Theo, our companion, and she gives her 5-star approval as well.

The pictures on this deck show cats Photoshopped into sumptuous Renaissance costumes, against appropriate backgrounds. It's not the sort of deck that makes you think deeply about the Tarot symbols, but it's gorgeous to look at. The authors, based in Prague, also have a book of similar cat pictures,  Bohemian Cats , which I can recommend as well. In addition, artist Susan Herbert has a number of books of paintings of cats in costume (Medieval, Victorian, Opera, Shakespeare, etc.) that are much like these, and have a welcome dose of humor that, for the most part, the Bohemian Cats don't possess.

If you are a cat lover these cards will appeal to you. The colors are bright and every card is loaded with little details. The personality of every cat really comes through on every card.

絵は期待通りです。チェコ共和国のタロットで、ヨーロピアンテイストで、装飾美に溢れています。残念なのは、印刷のずれは無いものの、カードが全てそっていました。使用には問題ないですが、直りそうもないです。

Baroque Bohemian はやはり繊細に描かれた猫が特長。これを見ているだけで、猫好きはたまらないでしょう。占術についても、裏面からは正逆がわかりにくいので正逆を考慮する方にも使いやすいかと思います。少し大きめなので、その点の扱いにくいと感じられるかもしれません。

大変可愛らしい猫たちがたくさんで、１枚１枚じっくり見てしまいました。ちょっと手に余る大きさではありますが、占うことも当然可能です（笑）箱も豪華で、コレクションにはもってこいな感じです。猫好きな方はぜひ！

紙質は薄いですが、絵柄はリアルでとても綺麗な色彩です＾＾　アマゾンさんの載せている写真よりも　色は落ち着いて写真のような綺麗な絵柄です＾＾　問題あるとすると　もう少し紙質が　厚ければ　いいかも＾＾　私は　全く問題ありません＾＾　カード自体もきりやすいですし、言う事ないです＾＾　猫シリーズでは、これが、一番　綺麗で素敵なカードのように感じています＾＾　箱も　BOX型で　横開きで　しっかりしています＾＾ハードBOXで、厚めの箱なので　踏まないかぎり　いつまでも　しっかりした箱だと思います。満点です！
