Description
- Ocimum sanctum (ShyamaTulsi) contains vitamin C and A, and minerals like calcium, zinc and iron, as well as chlorophyll and many other phytonutrients. Tulsi extracts are used in Ayurvedic remedies for common colds, headaches, stomach disorders, inflammation, various forms of poisoning and malaria.
- Ocimum gratissimum (Rama Tulsi) Its mainly used to treat leprosy. Also is the effective remedy for the severe acute Respiratory Syndrome. Juice of its leaves gives relief in cold, fever, bronchitis and cough.
- Ocimum basillcum (Vana Tulsi) It benefits in leucoderma, eye diseases, and obstetric diseases. The juice of this is mainly used on cuts, bruises, wounds and treating bites of poisonous animals.
- Ocimum canum (Dulal Tulsi) The herb is used to treat colds, fevers, lowering blood glucose, inflammation of joints and headaches.
- Ocimum citriodorum (Nimbu Tulsi) It treats bacterial infection and intestinal parasites, fever, migraine, colds and flu, poor digestion, spasms, nausea, abdominal cramps, gastroenteritis, insomnia and anxiety.
