So far it's great! My kitty loves it. I love the safety feature.
BACKGROUND: We have a cat who dislikes staying inside, even when it gets bitter cold out side. I looked at various reviews of conventional 110V AC pet heating pads and one thing that struck me was - regardless of brand -- a consistent percentage of reports of melting, overheating, etc. (You'll see it in the 1 star reviews of course).THEN.... I discover this Kitty Tube "SAFE" low voltage Heated Pet Pad.It has a transformer that drops the voltage down from 110 Volts Alternating Current to 24 Volts direct current. It has a thermostat that works. The pad is "just right" toasty but not overly hot.My cat loves this and I feel good about using it. Whereas before she would huddle closely in her outside bed (in an enclosure) to keep warm, she now can be found sprawling, stretched out with a smile.NOTE: I did take the extra precaution to enclose the transformer in a two different thick baggies with pull-ties - one over the other and keep it in a place where water cannot pool or drain to. Just common sense.I can recommend this heating pad! My cat doesn't even want to leave her kitty nest now!

Replacement pad. Reasonable price.
The heating pad lasted only 1 winter. I would love to get a replacement pad to replace it. I have several outside cats we try to keep sheltered and fed.

Kitty Tube safe heating pad
I purchased the kitty tube heated pad to create a nice warm environment for a stray that has been out in the bitter cold. The pad has been constructed to be safe for kitty, has a non chewable cord and when placed under the pillow that comes with the kitty pad warms up quickly. Highly recommended for cold winters. I would also recommend the kitty tube with the double insulation. Really great products for feral cats, strays, any outdoor kitties in the winter.

Not Good
I hate to leave a negative review here because I really like the Kitty Tube I purchased from this seller but this heated pet pad is simply not good, especially for the price. First, it does NOT fit perfectly inside the Kitty Tube as advertised. It is actually a much smaller diameter than the Kitty Tube. Second, the transformer is too large and cannot plug into my outdoor receptacle. You could of course buy an extension cord for this if you need/want to. Third, the pad doesn't actually have any padding. It is simply the heating coils covered in plastic and then covered in a thin fleece. No actual padding to speak of. Imagine your kitty outside trying to curl up in its Kitty Tube only to have metal coils poking at it - not fun.For $60 I would expect a lot more from this product. I won't mention company names but there is another company which sells heated pet beds/pads more a lot less and are a much higher quality. Now for a more positive review go read my 5 star review for the Kitty Tube itself.

My kitty cat really liked it, I think is warm enough for her that's why every night goes to sleep over the heated pad.

The pad seems really good..
The pad seems really good....unfortunately the cat I have been TRYING to give shelter to is resisting the Kitty Tube. I have set it up on a small side deck with thick Plexiglas on top with plastic surrounding two sides protecting it from the snow...He has gone in a couple of times that I've noticed.I have kept the pad on heat mode 24-7 for him. I wonder if his reluctance is because it only has the one opening. I am satisfied with both products and I will be relieved when he takes advantage of my hospitality. I tried bringing him into the den but he was petrified....After about 20 hours I let him out....he ran away from the house and I thought I wouldn't see him again....but he did return.
