Not expensive, very stable, nice fittings, good design, FUN.
Very nice for cruising Mohegan Lake. The 12' is a very stable flat bottom design, i am 200lbs and can neal or even stand in it. I have jumped off and can easily climb back in. Nice fittings although some were damaged in shipping A few stainless screws fixed all. No need for plugs as it stays dry. Takes more effort than my Old Towne but tracks quite well. Mine came with an OK paddle. I really like the space upfront for a jacket, towels, pets. , etc. Nice bungee tie downs. The cockpit dry store is a long reach, you have to kneel to get into it. There is a rod holder and small table between your legs which is nice for small items. Two rod holders right behind the cockpit. The seat is quite nice it's adjustable and stays dry. The rear dry store is large and removable, makes a good coolers too. I really like this kayak and recommend it for families, fisherman, and water fun.

Stable and plenty of storage
I wanted to upgrade from my Intex inflatable 2-person kayak, which introduced me to the great joy of kayaking. I love the Intex but always say in a puddle of water and it was a pain to inflate and deflate. The Sun dolphin was a great choice for me! I’m 5’7 and 240 lbs and this kayak was super stable, easy to maneuver on the water, and I can lift it and get it tied down on top of my car by myself. I tested it out on a nearby lake yesterday and absolutely can not wait to take it out again!

Great casual kayak!!!!!
I watched the price and got the Bali SS 12 for $284, it was damaged in shipping, arrived with a large dent across the bottom rear of the hull. I contacted Amazon right away and they were very helpful and gave me several options, keep it with more of a discount or have a replacement sent (I didn't just want to return it). I had them send a replacement and it looks by the truck they used a different shipper the second time and it arrived with no damage. The replacement took one week to arrive so I used the dented one over the weekend. I know a gal that has the same model so I got to tries her first to make sure I liked it. I love this kayak! It is very stable and I love that you sit down in it where as most SOT you are up on the top with a seat back held up by straps. I am a "curvy" gal and this is very stable and comfy. I also take my little dog with me. I am 5' 5" and I took out the foot pegs because they are not really comfy to use and more of a hindrance, they just slide right off. There is plenty of storage for what I need. There are scuppers at the feet, none in the seat (which is what I wanted), I put a foam stadium seat pad to sit on for more comfort and to keep you from sitting in a puddle if any water gets in. I've only used it on calm lakes so I stayed bone dry, the only water is the paddle drips on the sides and the drips from my feet when I got in, but if you use it in crashing waves you will end up sitting in water. To me it tracks well and is easy to paddle. It's a great kayak and a great deal. I also plan to use it on lazy river trips.

Tracks well
I love this Kayak! It is long enough that it tracks really well and is pretty stable with my 50 lbs. Boxer in the boat. It takes a little practice with the my dog on both our parts. I would suggest that only experienced kayakers get this kayak if you plan to take your dog.Update** now that my dog is a grown up 60 lbs boxer I have installed outriggers as well. They help a lot with stability when she moves around. Still love my kayak 2 seasons later!

Attention tall kayakers
I received my kayak ahead of schedule and in perfect condition. Kudos to seller and shipper. Here are my comments after taking my initial voyage. I am 6’6” and was looking for a suitable kayak to use on my lake. I was intrigued by the 13 1/2 foot model but couldn’t resist the price of this 12 footer which was over $400 less. That is a decision I may end up regretting. The 12 is not quite long enough for me as I would like to be able to completely stretch and straighten my legs. I can’t do that. Even with the adjustable foot pegs removed, I can’t quite straighten them. For my maiden voyage it was comfortable enough. I’ll Update when I’ve been out for several hours fishing. Other than it not having quite enough room for my giraffe-like legs, all is well so far.

Best Bang for the Bucks....
I have had this Sun Dolphin Bali 12ft for a year now. I shopped online extensivley to find one that would fill my special needs. Its the lightest one available. 45#. Open bow offers more storage and comfort for my JR Terrier. Yes I installed side handles to lift it with . Not a big deal.Tracks well .... Especially if you know the correct way to use your paddles.Cons:No seat pad on bottom, which is ridiculous since. Its the low point and you will get a wet butt if you take in waterplan to spend extra for a suitable seat $$$$No scupper holes but a sponge works great Decals will peal off ...I can live with thatMy first Kayak and im hooked . it goes with me on my Rv Vacations. I recently added a Anchor Trolley and rod holders so I can go fishing with it I'm small 5' old 65+ and female trying to find a nice stable kayak that I can load into the back of my truck is a challange. The price was the Bonus $385. Including shipping I'm happy with my choice and have really enjoyed this KayakP
