Woodees WMIA35 Miso Music Instrument Adapter

The original iphone has a recessed jack. I had to use a utility knife to shave off some of the plastic around the plug so it would fit into the jack.(I wonder if that is why some people report it doesn't work?)

I've had this for a while. When I first got it, I had a real hard time getting the input recognized on my iPhone 4s using any of the Amplitube type programs. I had it working briefly, but could never repeat the limited success.We recently got an iPad 3 and it seems to work much better. The connection snaps in nicely and feels solid. I went back to the iPhone to play around again. No dice. When I monkey with the input plug, I get momentary but weak connections. It appears to me that there is an incompatibility between the plug and the input jack of the iPhone 4s. Sometimes manufacturers vary their dimensions a bit which in this case, I believe is enough to keep things from working. BTW, momentary or intermittent connections while using the iPhone in this manner will either start music playing or call up Siri as they think the button has been pressed on a headset.I spoke to the Woodees folks back when in first had problems, who were nice enough, but only insisted that it works fine. Not much help I'm afraid. I've read other reviews suggesting the IRIG folks are more responsive. I may give them a call to see if they have any insight and whether or not their product makes a better connection before I give one a try.

Works well on Windows 8 on combo jacks, haven't tried on any other system, on my tablet its very difficult not to set it loose and disconnect it from the jack, but otherwise good

This adapter is just fine when it works. Key words there: "*When* it works". This item is packaged really, really poorly and it causes the cable to sometimes be unusable. Unfortunately, someone at Woodees decided that it would be a good idea to ship the cable with 2 huge bends in it at the part where the cable plugs into the device and where that cable meets to body of the split connector. Take a look at the product images if you want to see this. You are basically getting a cable that has a crimp in it right out of the box and it ruins the entire thing. My friend and I both bought one of these and both of them only work if you wiggle the cable around violently and maybe get it sitting the right way so that it's hanging in the opposite direction that it was bent. Otherwise, it doesn't make a connection because the cable is pulled out, bent, or crimped.Until Woodees decides to package this with some kind of thoughtfulness to the type of product it is, it's essentially worthless. I don't even want a replacement at this point, just a refund. If two separate purchases are both not working, have the same exact "fix", and are broken right out of the package, it should clue you in that this isn't anything more than defective packaging or a subpar product. Since the cable works fairly well when it actually decides to work, I can only image that the packaging is at fault here.

Love it! plugs my Ovation right into my imac of ipad with no drivers or secondary app's to buy ... perfect for the garag-band recording artist just starting or touring pro... arrived fast and was packaged really well... I will purchase from this group again and suggest to friends they do the same!

Ipackaging was great, shipped quickly. The problem is that it won;t recognize that there is a guoitar plugged into it. I tried different cables, my iphone 4 and my new ipad. there is no real troubleshooting available for this product. the external mic on the ipad is active even though the guitar is plugged in.Also very small library of guitar music at this point available.

Just what you need to lay down instrument tracks on your Garage Band app. I do love this little item.

This product did not work. I tried 6 different apps, 2 different iPhones (3G/4S), 2 different guitars, 2 different guitar cables, and 2 different headphones all to no resolution. Not too mention the MisoMusic app was no where to be found in the app store on the phone itself, but can be found in iTunes? Odd...Looks like I have to pony up and buy the iRig
