Halloween Romantic Art and Customs of Yesteryear

As a POST CROSSER, I found the many different Halloween cards to be excellent to send to our international members, most of whom do not pay much attention to this ancient holiday. Generally considered to have been brought to America by Irish immigrants, this day has grown to a joyful child's national holiday. Many of our international friends do not understand this holiday.

I'd rate this between 3 and 4 stars. So, a 7.I own the other Halloween postcard books from another company, who packages them in books of 30.When I purchased this book of postcards, I noticed a few that look familiar. I recalled 1 of them I still had in a booklet of 30 Halloween postcards. I wanted to compare the 2. The design was identical, however, I noticed that the print quality of this postcard book is not as sharp as that in the book of 30 from a different company. This design was a bit blurry, whereas the book of 30, that had that exact same design, it was clear.I'm mentioning this, as when I run out of cards from this book, I'll probably just keep to other books of Halloween postcards.There are some unique postcards in here, not found in other sets of postcards, but the quality of the printed pictures isn't the same in this book.

I love this product, but then again I love anything having to do with early 1900's Halloween themed items. I got these and loved them so much I ordered a second booklet of them and I'm pondering on ordering a third. The art is beautiful and there are so many different themes to the postcards: some cute, some spooky, some romantic etc. I used these as mailed out invitations to my Halloween party and people not only thought it was an original idea but they have all raved about how they're going to keep their invitations because they are so beautiful and unique. I would totally recommend these to anyone my only issue is that the cover says there are 16 cards in each booklet and there are only 15 cards in each booklet, not a big deal when you consider what a great deal this item is.

Nice postcards, but it's a mixed bag of images. Only a few are romantic, most are of children or traditional Halloween images (witches, jols, cats). Glad I bought them, and I'll enjoy using them, but I prefer the postcards in the Halloween Postcard Book produced by Laughing Elephant (twice as many cards and they are larger in size).

I see from a previous review that the title of this collection is confusing since it seems to indicate that there is information on Halloween customs in the book...I think this is arising from the fact that this is a companion book to the ACTUAL book (by the same author) called "Romantic Art and Customs of Yesteryear". If you take this one as an extention of that book (to give people the art as a separate, usable item) it makes more sense. I love it as the little vintage window it is.

These are so beautiful, you will not be able to part with them. I love these so much. Amazing vintage Halloween images, definitely worthy of framing. Highly recommend.

The images on this book are a little bit blurry. There really is only one "romantic" postcard that is the one shown in the image.

These postcards are really neat! I wanted to tear them out and put them up for Halloween, but I couldn't bear to take the book apart (call it librarian syndrome). The images really got me interested in the history of Halloween and even inspired me to do some vintage looking Halloween crafts. I want to get the book by the same author that explains the significance of the images.

A very nice set of repro Hallowen postcards from the American publishing company Pelican. I have only given it four stars instead of five because there are only fifteen cards instead of the stated sixteen.

This is a beautifully illustrated book full of vintage Halloween ideas. Containing interesting facts about old customs and their origins. If you don't like the tacky, but appreciate vintage Halloween, then this is an excellent book to purchase.

There are 15 cards in this book, not 16 as advertised in the listing and the item's front cover. Although the cards are on the small side, there's still enough space for address and message, and they're printed on good quality heavy card stock. Brief descriptions (date, country of origin, whether they were used postally) are included on the back of each card, but there are no explanations of the customs depicted. (To the internet!) All in all, these are charming postcards that, along with a series of Haunted Canada stamps (from previous years), will be perfect for Postcrossing in October.

It states there are 16 postcards, but I counted several times and have 15. In any case, they are nice classic/vintage images. Easy to tear of the booklet. It is good for the price.
