Very good album, forget the haters
I spent the last three weeks listening to this album very closely. I can say categorically that Caleb Gutman is wrong, and probably sad.I haven't listened to Mike Snow. My review is purely subjective, not colored by previous expectations.Much of this album sounds to me like something John Lennon would be doing in 2013. I really enjoy Andrew's voice on all these tracks. There are many great ones. Such beautiful music and interesting lyrics. From time to time I'll catch a few lyrics I hadn't heard before and it sets the song even more on fire.Get this album. It is really really good. Creative, new, inspired in many ways. It is a far better album than any you'll find in the charts.Peace

Simply put, probably the most beautiful album i've heard that has come out in the last 29 years of my young life. Fabulous job

I wanted this to be good, but sadly, it was not.
I have been listening to Miike Snow for a few years now, and I think it's definitely one of the better Indietronic acts out there in the genre. It has enjoyable tunes, catchy lyrics and is just a blast to listen to. It's not deep or meaningful, and that's okay. But it is a lot of fun.I heard the single And Septimus... on Andrew Wyatt's soundcloud. I liked it, and decided I would give the album a listen when it released. I did just that, and sadly it did not live up to my expectations. The entire album had only one or two good songs on it, being probably And Septimus and Harlem Boyzz. Everything else is just lack-luster and forgettable. Very few tracks even stand out on the album, leaving you with a completely forgettable and mediocre experience. If an album is good, it should leave you with something. It should leave you feeling something. You should be changed by it in a way, no matter how small that change is.This album is unable to do that. The songs simply sound generic. They sound so bland, that they simple blend in with everything. At least with a bad song, you are able to still remember it. But this album is a different kind of bad, just a forgettable one.I wish I could have had better things to say about this album, but it is simply not worthy of the praise. I wanted this album to be good, I really did. But sadly it was not.
