Plug It In and It Shines
Fender CD-60SCE 12-String Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar, Natural If you're looking for a twelve-string guitar with solid quality and smooth action, this is a great choice. Right out of the box, I was able to tune it up easily, and it sounded awesome. Some reviews mention it sounds a bit flat, maybe slightly, but once you plug it into an amp, that clears right up. Overall, I'm really happy with the sound and feel of this guitar.

Arrived In Box Perfect & Plays Awesome
Wow, UPS just delivered my $349 Fender CD-60SCE-12 Dreadnought 12 string guitar two days early and the box is designed so well that the guitar (with no case), arrived on Maui, HI perfect !! I put my strong Kyser 12 string capo on the second fret because I tune down my guitar to make it play easier. I opened Youtube and typed in, Tune Your 12 String Guitar [Easy Way], this will make sure you are on all of the correct octaves in E tune and will not break any strings tuning. Just tune the guitar with the capo on it. I can't believe how nice this guitar plays for the price, I love it !! I am very happy with all of the hardware and craftsmanship and finish. I put the battery in and plugged it in to the amp. Really clean and clear sounds and then added some effects. I don't turn up my treble to much when I plugged in a 12 -- this clears any string buzz. So I hope you can tell how happy I am with this purchase !! Awesome 12 string production from Fender.

Very good guitar for the money
To start, I play guitar because I like it, not because I am good at it. At the tender age of 63 I have a little over a year on stringed instruments and started with a bass, tried a six string and loved it, and I’ve had a yen for trying out a twelve for fun. I’d been playing twelves at local shops but I wasn’t ready to drop $500 on a sometimes instrument. As I was perusing the Amazon site I saw that this Fender was only $210, reduced from its usual $299. After a few hours of consideration I hit the button. I have had five Fenders and am a fan of their acoustics as they are good instruments for the price, and look cool. It arrived two days later in its original box. On opening it I saw that it was in pristine condition. I removed the plastic and strummed and it sounded awful. Quick research on the web told me that often twelve strings are detuned before shipping, especially if there is air travel involved. It took awhile, but I finally got it in tune after I realized how. Tune the top two in unison, the next two in unison, then tune the remaining thick strings to a normal tune. The thin strings go an octave higher. If you don’t know (and I didn’t) just keep tuning up until you hit the next E, A, D, and G. Once it was in tune it sounded good. It has held a tune fairly well since. By good I mean that it sounds good for a $300 guitar and will never hit the sounds of a top end twelve, but it is good enough for my playing abilities. Hotel California sounds amazing on it. The sound is a bit high pitched, but that can easily be solved with different strings. Plugged in it sounded nice and still retained that nice acoustic sound. Overall, I would buy this guitar again. It’s a good entry level twelve and will probably satisfy my needs for some time. It also looks good hanging on that wall. On a side note, the 9 volt battery that came with it died in a day, easily replaced. Update- The more I play this instrument, the more I like it. My son in law was over and he liked it so much he ordered one. Grab one before the price goes back up again.

Disappointed (update)
I started to give this guitar 3 then I moved it up to four once I plugged it in. It definitely sounded better through the amp than it did without it. I just got it a few hours ago, and when I was tuning it up one of the tuning pegs slipped already. Once I started playing it, I was disappointed in the initial sound. Once I plugged it into my amp it sounded much better to me. To be honest I wouldn’t recommend this to an experienced player . I’m thinking about returning it already and spending an extra 300 and getting something that sounds better. I bought it because it was a fender and figured I couldn’t go wrong. But as I say you get what you pay for. I just wanted a 12 string because I haven’t had one in 50 years. I have several guitars all six string. Anyway, I’m gonna play for awhile and see if my opinion changes :-) i’ve had the guitar for a month now. It’s still not the greatest 12 string I’ve played, but I’ve gotten used to it. I’ve got a new set of strings to put on it which should help. I’ve had no more problems with the tuning pegs. They seem to be working fine. The main thing is the neck and headstock are so much heavier than the body. You cannot put a strap on the pegs that are on the guitar or the neck just hangs down. I put a strap on it that attaches to the neck of the guitar and has alleviated some of the weight problem. I actually thought about putting a lead weight in the back end of the guitar to even it out. But as far as the sound, It definitely sounds better through my 50 watt fender . I still wouldn’t recommend it for your first 12 string. Spend the extra money. I blame myself for some of this because I ordered it online when I should’ve checked it out at the guitar store first. Had I known about the weight difference I wouldn’t have bought it. :-) but for the time being, I’m happy to have it. Next year I’ll buy a new Guild 12 string. Or hope to. I have nothing against fender, but this is a bad design. I own a fender jazzmaster, and enjoy it very much. And I just bought a new fender amplifier. Next month, god’s willing, I’ll be buying a Stratocaster. And I’d love to have a fender jaguar. I said all this, just to say, I really like Fender, but I do not like this particular guitar.

SUPERB guitar - Easy to upgrade later - Easy to make same spec as $500 to $1000 guitars.
I bought this on amazon warehouse saving around $150 off the normal price as it was not 100% PERFECT (are they ever at that sort of discount)? hehe I am super happy, I cleaned up and repolished the guitar and laquered it and it is like brand new now I am SUPER SUPER HAPPY with this guitar ( I would say I am intermediate on guitar although people say I play like pink floyd and they are looking forward to my album later in 2022 ) So the CD60SCE Fender 12 string ... as an experienced guitar player for 30 + years on and off and I have played in bands in the 1990s across the UK ..... my verdict ... THIS IS A SUPERB GUITAR and up there with the $500 to $1000 price range since they all seem to have hardwood top BUT LAMINATE sides and back until you reach $1000 + I do not understand why the "guitar reviews and videos online" put this guitar down as a BEGINNERS GUITAR ... Definitely NOT THAT. If you want an OUTSTANDING 12 string guitar that is EXCELLENT VALUE when bought cheaper than retail ( because it has a PLASTIC NUT and BRACE) ....... Snatch one up whilst they are available AND when the plastic wears down OR when you have changed your strings multiple times over several years .. THEN just simply buy a high end BONE NUT and BONE BRACE for a few dollars and them fitted professionally ... now you have a guitar of the SAME SPECIFICATIONS are guitars between $600 and $1000. To me, this is a KEEPER and I will keep it in my music home studio until the day I die, I see no reason to ever part with it unless I make millions from selling music, then I will donate it signed to a charity that needs the money for a REAL purpose.

You can’t go wrong
I’ve been playing for over 50 years. This guitar plays better than my Rickenbacker 370/12. I don’t think you can find a better sounding, playing 12 string at this crazy price. I thought for sure I’d be returning it. Once I let it equilibrate to the house temperature and humidity it tuned right up. The neck is straight and intonation is spot on. The Fishman pickup system sounds great. I own about 25 guitars. Some vintage from the 60’s. I will be keeping this one.

Crazy rattle
The guitar sounded great other than the first fret. The low E and A string rattled like crazy when trying to play on the first fret even though it was in tune. It even rattled with a capo

Exactly what I wanted
I looked at all the options in this price range and am very happy with the purchase, with no regrets. I am a novice, but appreciate quality and have purchased a number of guitars with many lessons learned. Here are my observations: - Solid Top. Make sure you compare that with others in this price range. - Made in Indonesia, not China. Many think guitar manufacturing is superior in Indonesia (then Korea and then Japan being premium) - Easy to play. My test is whether I can fit all three of my fat fingers within the 2nd fret to play an A chord. I then see if I can easily play barre chords with no buzz and light pressure - it was easy. I played every fret and there was no buzzing or high frets. -There were no sharp frets. Frets were well polished. - Fishman pickups/tuner - awesome. No loose wires etc. The Fishman has a subtle rubbery texture, which was an unexpected quality bonus. - Packing - the only weak point. It was single boxed, but I did not experience any damage. - Brand - it matters and you won't feel like you have a cheap off-brand. I am totally psyched with this purchase. Highly recommended.
