Scala Mens Felt Fedora Hat

I have researched and researched and read review after review and finally selected the Scala Fedora. I have a cheaper Fedora which I like but it is cheap. This Fedora has professional written all over it from the materials used to the liner in the hat. The size is in the S/M/L/XL language but they also give us sizes in inches and centimeters. I wear a 58/59 so I selected Large, and sure enough, right on the money.The hat arrived in a box that I thought was a little too small and when opened, it was confirmed it was too small. The crown was crushed just a little but after a few minutes of forming with just my hand, the hat popped right in to the original form. So at first disappointed but relieved to know it was a non-issue.The hat is comfortable to wear. It did come with sizing tape I will not need it. This I am very happy about. The other hats that are one-size are cheap and IMHO not worth the money. If you want a hat to look good, spend a little more and get a quality hat.Now, I am sure there are better hats out there and if one has a hat shop to really spend time looking, go for it. But in this case, all I had was reviews (and some that almost scared me away from this Fedora) to go on and this Scala Fedora WF536-BK3 won the day. So much so that I will get eventually get the Grey version.Happy hat hunting.

I love this hat...really I do. I wanted a traditional fedora that was a medium soft felt. The first one I received was a large but it ran a bit small. The hat was excellent though because it was not super rigid but firm/soft enough. So I ordered a second one, an XL thinking I would get the exact same hat only larger. What I received was the stiffest fedora I have ever seen! It was so hard it almost hurt! It is the same stiffness as tough cowboy hat. I could not believe it was the same hat or company! I don’t know how they can produce a wonderful, traditional “softer” fedora in Large but then send an incredibly STIFF XL! They are two completely different hats because of how rigid the second one is. I am exchanging the second hat for a THIRD hat. I will get it in three days. Unfortunately in the comment section for a return there wasn’t enough room to tell Amazon what is truly wrong with the hat...It’s hard as a rock! No pliability at all. It is the same stiffness as a bowler hat or top hat! You should be able to at least bend the brim somewhat (like the first hat I received was). In the case for the XL it is like a helmet. I hope I get a softer one...I’ll return in a couple days and report back.

The brim is exactly 2.5 inches all the way around, It has a nice snap to it. The crown is 5" at the tallest point, 4 1/4" in the front, and 4" in the back without a lot of taper that is common in lower cost hats. The brim is raw edge which means you can trim it down if you like, or leave it as is. I trimmed mine down by 1/8" to make it a little more proportional to my body. A little goes a LONG way. The sizing is spot on. I have a 23" inch head which is on the upper end of a large and the large hat fits as I would expect. It's not too small, but it is snug. If your head is over 23" I would go for the next size up. The texture of the wool felt isn't as nice as a fine fur felt, but that's to be expected. it still looks fantastic and non "hat people" won't know the difference. The only problem I could find is the glue attaching the polyester lining under the sweat band isn't very strong and easily comes loose if it's tugged on.

Nice looking hat, seems true to size but the wrong shape for my apparently long-oval head. If I squish the sides in, it seems to conform to my head at the right size for me, but as a stiff hat, it needs stretching/reshaping to sit comfortably. I'm hoping to be able to slightly reshape it to a perfect fit. (I have an oddly shaped head, and I had the same issue with motorcycle helmets; the only motorcycle helmet I could find to fit my correctly was a $400 Shoei.) Also, I'd prefer if the hat were slightly deeper; it sits a little high above my ears, but it's not too bad.Poor shipping packaging meant the brim arrived slightly bent up out of shape on the left side, so I'll need to try reshaping that with steam, but that isn't the manufacturer's fault. Hats like this are meant to be stiff and will retain their shape if they're deformed, just be aware that whoever prepares your hat for shipping may not pay attention to whether they're deforming your hat.

Great Fedora hat. !!!! Fast delivery in a large box uncrushed along with another grey hat. The size is true to size.!!!! This is a real immitation of the classic 40's fedora you wear with a zoot gives you the full gangster look. The only drawback yet minimal and not too bothersome is the brim.I dont find it rigid enough but hat can be shaped the brim too but the brim is a little loose . For a shooting purpose there is no problem. I own vintage 40's suits and a photographer proposed me to take pictures of me since I'm a tango dancer . I will post some pictures here as soon as the pictures are taken. It has a nice red feather on the side. there is a transparent inside lining that reads "Scala Classico ". Handmade since 1921, Dorfman Pacific co. Very satisfied with this hat and definitely give it a 5 star !!!!!

This is a rewrite. My last was rejected for some reason. Maybe too long. I was not very satisfied with the condition of my new hat. New but bent and dented a lot. The crown wasn't centered, the point of it was about two inches to the right. No idea how it happened, but I had to play with it wetting it down in front a bit and blow drying it. Hung a magnet from the front of the brim. Price was great but sometimes its better to pay a bit more even if the hat appears to be superior to others. I do like this, a lining I wanted. Somehow it got damaged even with the box protecting it which I also liked until I saw the way it was misshapen. Love the style, disappointed with the way it ended up at my door. Quality control issue. I am a hat guy, 49, and this is my third Fedora.

I'm a 7 5/8 and the size chart said I needed an XL. It was WAY too small. I definitely needed a 2XLThat said, this hat is a beautiful work of art. Fantastic design, vintage look, satin lined ... it's a beautiful Fedora.I returned it, but the price had increased by the time I got my refund. When it goes on sale again, I'll definitely buy the 2X size.

Love this fedora, purchased for my husband and he gets constant compliments. It is perfect on him.
