Gateron Browns, a Goldilocks switch.
Not too tactile, not linear, not too light, not too heavy, not too loud, not too quiet, the Gateron Brown is a Goldilocks switch. I have not experienced a plethora of mechanical switches, so don’t take my word too seriously. However, what I can tell you is that Gateron Browns are excellent switches and I believe they are largely overlooked. To begin, they have a subtle tactility that you miss out on with linear switches, but they are not so tactile that they draw too much attention to themselves. Their bump provides a subtle bounce to typing and allows for physical understanding that an action is taking place. It makes the letters typed on the screen feel more lifelike. On to sound, the polycarbonate top produces a higher pitched, sharper clack than, say, a Gateron Milky Yellow. I find it to be pleasing and not overbearing. As far as smoothness goes, these aren’t overly smooth. They give a similar sensation to cutting copier paper with a sharp pair of scissors. Crisp, tuned, and intentional. This is not to say that they are grainy or sandy by any means, but don’t expect the same smoothness from these as you would a linear switch. That being said, I don’t think these would satisfy many of those far into the keyboard hobby, as they are very moderate. One could make the case that they’re boring, but I think that’s where these shine. They allow you to forget about them, and I think that’s something all tools should aim to achieve. The only thing I would like to change about these switches are the springs used. After the bump, there is relatively low resistance, which I’ve found makes me bottom out the keys hard. Down the line, I may switch out the springs to longer, heavier springs offered by Durock. All in all, these switches provide great value for the money. They are widely available, affordable, and sound and feel great to type on.

Genuine Gateron. Not pre lubed as advertised
Good switches if you like clicky. They are kind of loud in my opinion. Personally I'm starting to prefer linear switches. Opened up one of these switches and no lube. Makes sense as clicky blues don't usually get lube, not sure why the product title says factory lubed.Genuine Gateron product.4 STARS...

A Smooth Typing Experience
I recently upgraded my mechanical keyboard with the Gateron KS-9 Pro 3.0 Red pre-lubricated 5-pin linear switches, and I must say, it has been an absolute game-changer for my typing experience! These switches offer an incredibly smooth and consistent feel, making each keystroke a joy. The linear design ensures a seamless transition from keypress to keypress, and the pre-lubrication adds an extra layer of silkiness that truly sets these switches apart. Typing has never felt so effortless and satisfying. The red switches provide just the right amount of resistance, striking a perfect balance between responsiveness and comfort. Whether you're a gamer looking for precise and quick key inputs or a typist who spends long hours at the keyboard, these switches cater to a wide range of preferences. What's particularly impressive is the build quality of the switches. The 5-pin design adds stability to each key, reducing wobbling and ensuring a solid typing platform. The durability of Gateron switches is well-known, and the Pro 3.0 series lives up to that reputation.Overall, I highly recommend the Gateron KS-9 Pro 3.0 Red pre-lubricated 5-pin linear switches to anyone in search of a top-notch typing or gaming experience. Classic Factory Lubed Linear now even better
The media could not be loaded. The Gateron red switches really were originally a clone of the Cherry MX reds, with 45gf actuation force as well as 2.0mm actuation distance and 4.0mm total travel distance. The pro series added factory lubing, making buttery smooth linear switches available at a budget price. There are 3 iteration/versions of the pro switches, each adding a bit of improvement over the previous. Version 1.0 appears very similar if not identical to the non-lubed, with a slit opening for LED and translucent top; 2.0 becomes clear top, changed spring length to have a consistent bottom out force as well as adding a convex lens for LED that works better with modern SMC LEDs. These version 3 improves on the v2.0 by making that convex lens translucent and diffuse the lighting effect even better. Also the contact pins are reinforced so it is much stiffer and harder to bent than the previous two generations.Things have come a long way since Gaterons were merely Cherry clones. They have quickly become the preferred standard by enthusiasts, as they come factory lubed, with better molding for tighter tolerances and lower stem wobble. The factory lubing for the Gateron Pros have been quite excellent, and makes for buttery smooth typing experience, quite an improvement over the non-lubed versions or even the cherry ones. The sound and feel are very nice, without costing a lot.Overall these are great bang for the buck, and offer one of the best factory lubed smooth operating linear switches for your money. There are other offers in this popular Pro line, such as the popular yellows with slightly higher spring force. Once you try the lubed switches, you cannot go back to those non-lubed ones. The difference is transformative. These Gateron Pros are inexpensive options for you to try lubed switches without your having to open the switches and lube them one by one yourself. It's a great value and have become real classics.

Great for customizing
These switches are great for customizing your gaming board to your needs. The switches are made with a great material and work well. They are easy to install and work well once they are in. Definitely a great set of switches.

Solid little linears
Love that they come pre lubed. That can be a pain to do. Could probably use a little more lube, but they're smooth with a nice bottom out.
