Works well, appears to be accurate within 1/4 inch. On-board functionality is satisfying, if not excessive for most situations. While the interface is not overwhelming whatsoever, you should RTFM on this one to get the most out of it. Memorize the shortcuts for sure. Beyond functionality, this is a very well made piece of equipment. The encasement is a multi-polymer molding of impressive (for it's price range) precision and robustness. While I cannot speak to the true durability of the device, the encasement seems to be very strong. The inverted LCD is very easy on the eyes indoors, outdoors, everywhere. The included woven synthetic fabric case is acceptable at best. It's pretty tight on the device, and there's nothing keeping you from turning the device on while it's in there. I have done it at least a few times.Overall, recommended purchase for those looking for a similar range finder (DeWalt, Bosch, etc). This little guy will meet demand at a MUCH better price point. for certain things, like cordless power tools, I ALWAYS buy DeWalt (my choice), but small things like this, I care more about the price point vs functionality of the device. This works very well,is very well constructed/designed, has several useful features, does not have useless features, functions in multiple units, and has a great price point.One problem, and it loses a star for this for sure, is measuring in inches provides a nonsense result. I have no idea why, but every measurement in inches is WAY off the mark. As soon as I move it to feet or meters, it's on the money, which is fine for me.

Update 4Sept2018The supplier did contact me explained that the fraction display (5/16 in my case) is only an approximation. The actual value is 314/10 (or 31.4) inches. Well--OK. However, if this is correct, then having only a single decimal place in the result, makes the claim of +/- 1/32 inch accuracy incorrect. About my comment on the manual, I misspoke. I can read the text, it's the reproduction of the symbols associated with the device controls that I could not make out. Since the device may be perfectly adequate for someone using the feet or meters unit and measuring over a relatively larger distance (e.g., room dimensions), I have updated my rating to 3 stars. In any case, this is all moot for me. I need the +/- 1/32 inch accuracy over fairly short distance (about 48 inches). Amazon has authorized a return._________________________________I received the device 30 August 2018. As already pointed out by another reviewer, the readout in inches is totally screwed up. I tested on a known distance of 31 3/8 inches; device readout was 314 5/16 inches. OK, if I drop the "4", the readout is correct, but can I count on it to be consistent? The instruction manual has print so small that it is almost impossible to make out the illustrations of the various symbols from the device being explained in the manual. I tried my magnifying glass--still very difficult. I cannot find any way to contact the supplier/manufacturer to either ask about the inches display issue or (hopefully) get a PDF version of the manual that I can read. If anyone who reads this review has found a way to contact the supplier, I hope they will post in comments. If I don't hear anything in a few days, I will return the device and buy another brand.

It is backlit, easy to read numbers, although it takes getting used to how it shows fractions and decimals. Meters, inches, feet fractions, they are all there. The Direction booklet is so small you can't read it, that is why I had to scan it and enclose the pages above so you may be able to read them. I've only had it two days, will update after I've used it more.9 7 2018 update... I decided to send it back. I had a professional come over with his, he had two, ($$$) and he read 10 13/16 with both. So being so far off in such a little distance, it wasn't accurate enough for me. This one still reads 109 7/16. The company did respond to my question.Update. The inches are off. example: for 10 7/8 inches it read 108 7/16. I have written the company thru Amazon for clarification. As another reader said, without reading inches correctly it is useless for certain measurements. I may be returning this one if not corrected.Since it is so hard to read the booklet, I also scanned the booklet and uploaded to them, through Amazon, full size pages on Word. If you can't read the ones Amazon posted, maybe Solcasa-us will send you the word document I sent them. 8 1/2 x ll pages full size.

I’ve played around with this for a week now and it’s pretty neat. The contrast and brightness of the display allows you to read measurements easily in both dimly lit and bright environments.It uses AA batteries instead of AAA like a lot of other similar products, which is convenient for me since that is the only battery I buy in bulk. It also has blinking indicators so you know which distance to measure and what mode you're in.Another cool feature is that the bottom has a threaded hole to mount the measurer on case you need a bit more accuracy, but I took 4 readings of the same distance by hand (see photo) and it gave consistent readings. The lens covering the laser is recessed by about 0.35” from the protective cover so it won’t get scratched or dirty as easily.Make sure that if you're fiddling around with it when the laser is off, it isn’t pointed towards anyone. I was wiping off dust from the power button and accidentally turned it on a couple times.
