Malory Book About Secondary Characters
THAT PERFECT SOMEONE is the tenth book in the Malory Family Series. It is not a book about the Malorys or Andersons however. It is the story of Richard Allen who readers of the series meet in CAPTIVE OF MY DESIRES. Richard is the friend of Gabrielle Brooks Anderson who believes he is in love with Georgina Malory. Richard fled England to avoid the arranged marriage his father wants. Julia Miller is twenty one and ready to declare her reluctant fiance dead so that she can find love. Her arranged marriage to the son of an earl has been a mistake. At a makes ball she meets a man who interests her. Little does she know that it is her reluctant suitor.I liked this book but it is my least favorite of the series. The Malorys and Andersons are secondary characters here and to me those characters were brighter and more defined than Richard and Julia. I liked how these two had such a tumultuous relationship as children. That relationship was so well defined that I just didn't feel that the two ever verbally came to terms with that past relationship. Because of that, I never completely bought into the relationship between the two and thus my lower rating. On the other hand, I thought the plot was well done here and I liked the progression of the story.

Johanna Lindsey is one of my favorite HR writers. Many hits and very few misses. Fires of Winter, Paradise Wild, Man of my Dreams, and Prisoner of my Desire are my all time favorites. This book was a miss for me. I found the story long and uneventful. The story lacked the romance I have come to expect in her books. I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it. She’s written some wonderful stories but I recommend skipping this one.

A great surprise read
I can't for the life of me understand the less than stellar reviews for this book. I adored this book. Yes, it's not a true Malory- Anderson but, it has some of the most classical James' scenes ever. I wasn't going to read this one-on-one how wrong I would have been. I adored Richard and Julie's story.

Not enough Malory's or Anderson's.
If you take as a stand alone with blip of Malory's and Anderson's it is a wonderfully sweet story. If Mathew or one of Richard and Jewl's children married into their family then yes it could be considered as a Malory-Anderson installment. But for now I'll keep it as a standalone.Lindsey infuses her female characters with a vitality and independence rarely found in woman of the time. It is nicer to see strong characters and not the mindless robots many give woman.Truly a smile giving book. Lindsey did not let her fans down with this book.

Malory saga continues
I think that this book is good and that is why I ordered it. It tells the continuing saga of what is happening to the malories and their close friends. It was an excellant read. I would recommend it to anyone who is wanting to update their knowledge of the Malory's. Johanna Lindsey is a great writer, her stories always have adventure, action and humor in them. As you read the story you are joining in the story, instead of just reading along. The characters are very well developed and you find yourself drawn into their lives. I have always liked pirates and your get to revisit others characters from other books. James Malory is one of my favorite characters and he pops up in this book to my delight. I know that I throughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

Malory friends and Associates.....final chapter
This is a story about associated members of the Malory family which is why I only gave it a four star rating. From Captive of My Desires, its the story of Richard Allen and the causes of his pirate occupation. The heroine is a member of the ton known to the Malory family but not closely connected. As a Lindsey novel it is a good story- childhood betrothals, parental infidelity, parent-child hate issues and adult circumstances that force the past to merge with today and the future. However, it lacks the very essence of familial bonding, bantering, power & influence that make the Malory family so entertaining to read which is why only four stars.

I am happy that Richard did find his one true love.. and it wasn't who he was expecting...
I enjoyed this book. I have a hard copy but wanted to be able to read the "Malory's" whenever I wanted. When I read the character of Richard, the fun loving carefree treasure hunting pirate in "Captive of My Desires" I thought he was cute and fun. You could tell he is a loyal friend but he seems to have a secret...now we know. It's not every day a lord of the realm becomes a pirate, LOL! Love the book! I read this series every year if I can from start to finish. OK .. Ms. Lindsey when are we going to get Percy's or Ohr's story???

A complicated love rising out of aristocratic hate
Julia and Richard fall in love as strangers at a ball held for Georgina Mallory. Through various adventure they walk the line of love and hate from manipulations by Richard's father the Earl.

a good Lindsey story
When I saw that another Malory Novel was being published I was pleased and curious to know who the main character could be. I thought it might be one of Edward's two sons or even one of the single Anderson men. I didn't dream of it being Jean Paul first met in Drew's story. To be honest I am a little disappointed that the roles played by the Malory/ Anderson's was minor indeed. Having said that I enjoyed Richard and Julia's tale. They were lively warm and very likeable characters and like all Ms Lindsey's characters they strike sparks off one and other and the plot although rather unbelievable is rendered plausible by Ms Lindsey's immense talent. Her style is easy to read and her characters jump from the page. While I think calling it a Malory Novel is stretching it a little bit I would nevertheless recommend it to anyone who wants to escape for a very pleasant afernoon.
