FLUXMOB BOLT Portable Power Adapter: USB Wall Charger and Universal Battery Backup, Argon

tl:dr... it works!Did a few experiments with what I have on hand, and here is what I found out:-- iPhone 4S and iPhone 6 both work with OEM and "MFi (Apple-Certified)" cords, with cord lengths of 2 and 6 feet-- But, when I plugged in my Apple USB extender cord (the ones we used for Apple keyboards back in the day), the phone doesn't recognize the 'accessory'.-- Also, a cheap knock-off charging cable was not recognized.I've been talking with Justin, the founder of Fluxmob and he thinks the new iOS 8 may be a little trigger happy and sensitive to off-brand cords giving us the "Accessory Not Supported" message.So, it works great, just be sure to use an OEM and or "MFi (Apple-Certified)" cord. You should be doing this anyway, since buying those low-quality, janky cords can be hazardous to you and your device.Will update when I see how many charges I can get out of it for the iPhone 6.

I wanted SO MUCH to love this. I do love the idea of it. I love kickstarter, I love this idea, I love the design. I ignored the mediocre reviews. I take such good care of my things and the prong fell off after less than one year. I think it's been 4-6 months? Really disappointing. I would expect them to replace the product because this happened due to no fault of mine. I would understand if I dropped this, kept it in poor conditions, etc., but this was cared for so well. I hate to say it but please opt for something else until this issue is addressed and corrected.

I travel with my son a lot to swim meets, where I can spend many hours in a gym or poolside without access to an outlet. I read a review of the Fluxmob in "Men's Journal" magazine, and, based on the product features - portable battery, the fact that the device itself could act as a charger, the charge level indicator lights, the number of charges it could provide - thought like it sound perfect for my needs. In fact, it was. Very serviceable as a charger and portable battery. The problem is that the prongs, designed to fold in, broke after only a year-and-a-half. Considering what the Fluxmob *is* - a portable battery and charger - you would think that the prongs *not* breaking would be pretty important. I mean, it's not much use if the prongs break, right? So I'm afraid I'm going to have to ding them hard on this review. I contacted Fluxmob to see whether they would honor the warranty, even though I'm past the one year warranty date, and will update this review in the event that they do.

I have tried a number of portable charging/battery solutions over the years (Mophie, Monster, etc.) and the FluxMob is by far the best. It's the only one I have used that lets me charge the phone and the portable battery at the same time. It also has the wall charger built into the battery, eliminating the need to carry additional USB chargers or cables around. Plus it has a really cool look and is manufactured from sturdy, soft touch material.The Bolt carries a lot of juice, too! It can bring my almost dead iPhone 6 back to 100%. It's my go-to device for air travel.

The bolt does not always start charging your device when you plug your device in. Sometimes, you will repeatedly have to pull the plug in and out of the bolt before it recognizes your device and start charging it. At first i thought I had a cable issue but I tried other cables and it does the same thing. Overall its convenient to use the bolt and works well as a second charger.

Not very impressed. It says that the output is 5v and 1amp but every device I try to charge on the battery power alone charge at a very slow rate and tell me to plug in the original charger that came with the device. It holds a lot of mAh but the amperage output doesn't seem to be working correctly.

I have owned mine for about 4 years now and still works great. I stopped traveling for a few months and when I pulled it out of the drawer and plugged it in it recharged and was great. It is as great when my wife and I travelled to Italy and I took a few hundred pictures and called our daughter. It kept my phone going for 10 hrs. I have only owned this one so I can't comment on other reviewers that have had issues. Opposite experience here.

Perfect to take anywhere. Although one flaw in this product is the battery capacity, I think it fulfills it's overall purpose. I take it on the go when I go to my morning and afternoon classes or simply if I forgot to charge my phone. This adapter works perfectly also as an everyday outlet charger instead of the standard adapters that come with your phone. So, if you're looking for a charger that you can take on the go and simply everyday use, this is the one for you.
