Its a Keen-they make hiking boots well!
As always, a great build for hiking. Naturally wear thick socks and change as necessary for a great "soft feel." Toe construction aligns with the heal which gives a very firm balance on the ground. No problems dealing with rocky terrain. Robust health and stylish.

Keen just keeps getting better and better!! 10 stars
Have been loyal Keen customer since the Original model. Each model has improved, however this particular model heads and shoulders above any shoe/ boot/ sneaker I’ve ever worn! From style points to comfort! Easy 5 stars, I work in construction and beat up my Boots. Each pair lasts years which adds to the rating!

Great boots with bad laces.
Very comfortable and should last a long time but for $170 the laces should stay tied. Unfortunately this is an often overlooked part of shoe design by a few companies I’ve bought shoes from, it seems to be more common with work and hiking boots though. My first hike I had to tighten my laces twice on each foot before I finally double knotted them. I forgot how slippery Keen laces are, it’s been a while since I’ve owned a pair but now I remember replacing the laces on previous pairs. I do like the way these look and once I get a better pair of laces on these they will be just about perfect.

Typical great Keen quality boots!!
I'll start off by saying I've worn keen steel toe/metatarsal work boots for at least 7yrs. These targhee 4 boots are even more comfortable than the work boots and at least twice as light. Have to say I'm impressed once again by keen boots. I'll update when we get back from out 2+ week hiking trip.

Durable Long Lasting Comfortable!!!
I bought a pair in the bison color way. Was simply looking for a shoe that could do everything. If I need to run for whatever reason. Be out in the rain. Drive my semi truck. Go get groceries. Whatever. These were exactly what I needed. I loved them so much I bought a second pair in the black color way. These are perfect. They even have speed hooks so you only need to tie them once. If you do not know how to properly use speed hooks. I highly suggest looking it up. It'll change your life. :) yes they are a little pricy. But for what you get. It's a very good value. These are great for whatever you need to do. I bought the all black pair because they seem like they'd be great for being tactical boots also as I am a firearms geek. AKA (Grey Man). I will come back to update this review after they've seen some wear and tear. The Targhee 3s lasted some people 15 years of daily use. With these being the newer more durable version. I think they'll hold up to a ton of abuse. Keep your eyes peeled for the update as I will be wearing these shoes every single day.

Comfy out of the box, roomy toe box.
I got these for warm weather actual hiking as I finally wore out my old Merrells. These run a bit bigger than the Targhee 3, which I bought and returned because the toe box was cramped. I like to wear heavyweight wool socks when hiking and my normal size is perfect for that in these. If I were wearing thinner socks, I would have gone a half size down in these. But for hiking, I don't want my toes bumping up against the end of the toe box and these fit the bill.I have no experienced any slipperiness with these as some people have, so maybe Keen improved their mold release process.*Update* have worn these around to break them in a little and have hiked miles in these as well now. Fit well, good grip, very pleased.

Still not as comfortable as previous versions
About four years ago, KEEN made a significant change to the interior design of their shoes, and unfortunately, the new design just hasn’t worked for me. Since then, I’ve tried over a dozen other brands, but none of them have been a good fit. I’m still babying my pair of KEEN Voyagers from 5–6 years ago, hoping to make them last as long as possible. The KEEN Targhee 4 carries forward this updated interior design, and it has its flaws. The fit feels loose and overly spacious, especially around the roof of the toe box. It also lacks adequate padding in the areas where the laces are tightened. Overall, the fit is far from snug, and honestly, I dread wearing these shoes. That said, after logging over 100 miles hiking in the mountains this winter, I’ve made some adjustments to make them somewhat tolerable. I added a pair of active SOLE insoles to help fill the interior gaps and started wearing slightly thicker Darn Tough socks. These modifications help, but the shoes still fall short of the comfort and fit that KEEN used to deliver.Interestingly, REI stopped selling KEEN hiking shoes for a while, reportedly due to an issue with the glue used in the Targhee 4. It was odd to visit multiple REI's in different states and not see a single pair on the shelves for nearly a year. I’m not sure if this issue has been resolved, but I haven’t personally experienced any problems with glue on my pair.
