I needed one as we were getting a lot of fake £20 and £50 notes locally, so invested in this little gem. well worth the investment, does exactly what it should do and i was pleasantly surprised at the colours and designs you dont see with the naked eye.....thank you

Cheap. And obviously for a reason. Used it once to check a large amount of cash. Week or 2 later went to use it and it wasn't working. Buy cheap buy twice. I wouldn't bother if I were you

A bit flimsy but works well enough. I am a retired electrical engineer. UV lamps used in sterilizers, note checkers and the like have an expected life span of 8000 hours i.e. about 10 months continues use. So I would expect at least two years at 8 hours a day. The lamps failed after 15 months on a lot less than 8 hours a day. Replacement lamps on Amazon come up with “Don’t know when or if these will be available”. The sellers own site will sell these at £12 a pair + VAT + P&P. Damn nigh the price a new machine on Amazon. An online search for specialist suppliers of note checker lamps (many standard UV lamps will not function as needed) will find a pairs of lamps for well under a £10 inclusive of VAT and P&P. The makers claim than the lamps just pull out for replacement… Wrong! The machine has to be dismantled to replace the lamps. Not difficult for someone with reasonable skills but this is an electrical device, if you are not confident don’t try.

Ok so I can only tell if it works on real notes as I don’t think I’ve found a fake one yet. But very clearly shows the watermarks in the notes. Used only on polymer (plastic) British Pounds

This is a great asset to any shop, to vheck for counterfiet money, my daughter is over the moon with this, as she has had three bad bank notes but not any more

great easy to use product, saved me the cost of the unit in the first week. We are only a small business and now check all of our notes, first week we had 2 £20 notes and 1 £10 note that were suspicious. We continue to find occasional issues and are so grateful that we have this note checker- on first glance the notes look very authentic!!
