Only 1 star because, although the color is a beautiful rich copper, it makes my hair fall out. I have never struggled with hair loss before using this product and now my hair falls out in mass. Like 25 hairs every time I brush and even more when I shower, big handfuls.

Alright Ya'll- I have my cosmo license, and have spent majority of my life looking for the most bang for my buck as far as my own personal hair color goes. I was blessed with the most versatile natural hair to color- platinum blonde (I was tow headed as a child). The only downside? I HATE my natural haircolor, it washes me out SO much. I've spent HUNDREDS of dollars trying everything from lime green to black to various balayage, and all of it was OKAY, but after years of searching, I discovered that a natural ginger looks best on me. The only problem? A natural looking ginger at home is INCREDIBLY difficult to not only achieve, but also to maintain. So here I am, giving away my secrets. This Adore Ginger is an absolute go-to. It sets a wonderful base- its a bit more red-toned than a natural ginger, [picture #1] but that quickly fades in about 3 washes (Red has the largest color molecules and leaves the pores in your hair the quickest- ProTip.) Once that red fades, you're left with this GORGEOUS color that ALMOST passes as natural. ALMOST. From about 3 feet away, it looks like you were born with it. Any closer, and you start to notice some green tinging that is NOT so natural. [picture #2] So to combat greenish tones and give you that little extra OOMPH that you need for that complete natural look, pair ADORE GINGER with a HENNA natural dye (thats right). I STRONGLY recommend The Henna Guy's Orange/Red (its available on amazon for about $15 a pack, you'll get roughly 4-8 dyes out of it depending on your hair length)- this will help your roots look naturally ginger as they grow out while blending into your ADORE base. Use the henna every 2-3 weeks all over your hair to refresh your color, combat the greenish tinging, and keep it SILKY soft and natural looking. The henna smells horrible, especially in comparison to how amazing the ADORE smells, but TRUST ME ON THIS. [picture #3] I've used this technique for over 2 years, and I get asked on a weekly basis if "thats my natural hair". The fresh color between these two is STUNNING, and the fade out not only takes FOREVER with this combination, but looks even MORE natural with time. The henna will wash out well after the ADORE does, and if you keep alternating, not only will you have a GORGEOUS natural ginger for as long as you want, but the money you'll save on skipping the salon is worth it in itself- I'm always down to help clients learn things on their own because everyone's tastes are different, and your vision might differ from your stylist's vision when it comes to color. Also, we are in a pandemic, no one wants to spend $100+ on a color that requires upkeep the way ginger does. I've tried to do this with many other dyes, products, and brands, but the only acceptable base is ADORE Ginger- I will never stop using this line of products and strongly recommend them to anyone who wants rich color with minimal damage. 10/10 FOR SURE.

I'm on my way back to brunette from being pastel pink for 2 years but before I got there, Ginger was my first stop! Firstly, I did a bleach bath to get rid of any leftover pink (the pic of my bleached hair is from another time I did a bleach bath but I submitted the pic to show you the blonde I was working with). Then following the directions, I applied the Ginger (30) color straight from the bottle to my towel-dried bleach blonde hair. I applied it in thin sections and used 2 whole bottles for my hair (thick and 3 inches below my collar bone). I left it in for 30 minutes (starting from the time I completed it) and did shampoo it afterwards like the bottle recommends. It came out to this color! Very bright but gives "Turmeric" rather than "Ginger". Love it though. Like another user states, it is definitely traffic cone orange in the sunlight. In indoor lighting, the shade is turmeric. Surprisingly, it looks so stunning on my grown-out roots (level 5-6) so that was a pleasant surprise. Overall, it was easy to apply, no patchiness, and I would buy from this brand again.

I have been using this product for years, it gives me the best ginger hair color ever. People literally stop me in public to ask about my hair. I apply it to bone dry hair, freshly washed with no conditioner used. I leave it in my hair at least 2 hours, but I usually sleep with it in my hair, for max staining and color longevity. I will always buy this product as long as they continue to make it.
