A great Bass and Bluegill rod
The Hane is my second Tenkara rod. Naturally the compact size makes it easy to carry. The beauty of the Hane is casting it. I generally fish warm water with popping bugs and the Hane does a great job casting these bugs. It even does well with a bit of wind.If you fish with popping bugs for Bass or Bluegill, the Hane is a great choice.

Good mid-length Tenkara
This is my go-to rod for fishing dry flies on mid-sized Appalachian trout streams. The 10' length makes it manageable for most tree lined streams yet it has the heft to handle wild trout up to 16 inches..This is my pack rod and it goes everywhere with me. Tenkara rods take some special care in fishing and handling but they add a new dimension to fly fishing for trout.

Love the compact/elegant design
I wanted to get back into fly fishing and picked up this rod -- love the design. Landed my first trout in almost 30 years yesterday with it. I am very fond of Tenkara in general and happy to support this company which has put a lot of energy into spreading the word in the US about the techniques.

Good Tenkara Rod
I love the ease of the telescoping rod, the action of the rod with a fly lure, and the light weight. This rod is great for fishing in rivers, streams, ponds, and small lakes. It is good for backpacking because of it's light weight.

Absolutely gutted that it arrived broken from the factory
After watching videos about this rod on Mouse Trap Monday I really wanted to give it a try, so I bought this rod which arrived on a Wednesday and I took Friday off after 3 months of no days off work. When I opened up this rod I was super careful and incredibly excited to see how it feels and then the first segments slides out and I see there is no line attached... It was snapped clean off and it was not in the sock, not in the tube, not in the box, yeah this thing snapped off in the factory (or I was shipped a used rod) and it somehow passed quality control. I'm quite sad that I'm no longer going to be able to give this a use on my day off, but on the good side Amazon accepted to send a replacement right away without any stress. When I can find some time to give the replacement a try I will comment on how the rod performs and possibly update my rating.
