Cheap delid tool that works!
Edit: My Core i7-8086K has been delidded and is running at 5.1 GHz all core, 5.2 GHz 3-4 core, and 5.3 GHz 1-2 core on a Noctua NH-D15 cooler. I used Conductonaut between the die and the heatspreader. I have no AVX offset, and have tested with Prime95 small FFTs overnight. My case (Rosewill Cullinan lol) doesn't have the best ventilation, so I'm pretty happy.----------- Original review -----------Bought this delid tool because it was one of the cheapest listings. After doing some research, it seems that there are two different Chinese-designed delid tools, with this one being the more common one. They vary quite a bit in price, but are universally significantly cheaper than the brand name tools that you most often hear about. This particular listing is almost an order of magnitude cheaper than the brand name delid tools. Granted, the brand name tools may help you relid your processor, but I don't view that as a huge feature. In any case, this tool works as advertised. It took two days shy of a full month to arrive, but I'm not complaining considering the low, low price. Hell, I paid more for liquid electrical tape and over 2x more for liquid metal (and I got the liquid metal on sale!)I have yet to delid my current CPU, but I did do a trial run on a Core i3-3220T and the delidding was straightforward. The tool is cheap, but all parts are made out of metal, and the tool appears to be sturdy enough for repeated use.
