UPDATE: 12/2Okay I guess I judged this thing too harshly. After actually going out there to strap stacks of cardboard together this thing works really well. And you don't need to exert as much force to tighten it as I thought. So it works perfectly well for my needs. This is 3000 feet which is gonna last me forever!Funny thing is.. there's a version of this for the same price that has steel buckles instead of plastic! But the plastic works fine too :)ORIGINAL REVIEW:So 3000 feet is pretty long. and you get plenty of buckles.But the tensioner is a joke pretty much. At first I couldn't figure out how to use it. It's not really a tensioner, it's basically something to hold the strap and you have to PULL with your hands to tighten the strap... So it's a "strap grabber", just so you don't have to hold the strap and pull it with your bare hands.There's a real strap tensioner kit on ebay, it's here on Amazon too altho 10 dollars more expensive coz of shipping.  Anytime Tools Complete Packaging STRAPPING TOOL KIT + 400 Seals + 2 Banding Rolls 345 ft. Supply  That's a real strapping kit.Anyways this will work fine for me. but seriously? pulling it with your hand to strap it? might as well get some rope or something, why use strapping if it's not gonna be really tight.

My need was to ship packages up to 150 pounds. Freight firms were expensive and wanted their own packaging. 150# is the limit for UPS, but owner is responsible for packaging and damage. Professional and commercial strapping kits cost hundreds. I chose this product hoping it would be sufficient; and was pleasantly surprised. I spaced the fairly light-weight strap material every 18", and none broke in transit. The 3000' supply insured I did not have to be stingy. The attaching buckles appeared especially flimsy, but did not break even under all the tension I could apply. But I covered them with tape to prevent them from catching on other surfaces in transit. The tensioning tool is not the ratcheting variety, but rather simply a gripping aid. It was useful, but not necessary.

This product would probably work on small boxes, but I bought it to strap a 36 x 29 x 17 package. I was not able to get the straps tight. The tensioning tool was a sick joke. It simply did not work. The instructions said to put it on the strap and rotate it. In order to rotate it you have to pass it under the strap, and it is far too big to do that. If anyone knows how to use the tensioning tool, I would love for her to tell me how to do it.I am replacing the straps with a 50 mm wide strapping tape with fiberglass fibers running down the length and across the width. I plan to wrap it around the package three times which will give a very strong, three layer, strap.

A bit flimsy looking plastic hooks. My packers and I tried several times to use the straps but could not figure out how to secure by belongings. We gave up and trashed the supplies.I belive we must have missed something but product is not intuitive for occasional users.Giving three stars for prompt next day delivery, nicely printed instructions (though did not help) and attention to details such as strap, cutter etc...

This strapping kit worked just as I hoped. I had to re-pack an electric scooter that I needed to return to the seller. The scooter originally came in a box that was strapped to a pallet. I was able to re-strap it just like it came with this. The only problem is that I only used a small amount of the material. I have a lot left over that I may never use. But still, it was worth it to make sure that my return was safe and accepted by the seller

I sent 18 packages of books with an average weight of 40 pounds from the USA to Italy. Out of 91 straps that I used, only 1 slipped off partially. As suggested by another reviewer, I taped the buckles (with strapping tape) and not one of them was damaged.I doubt that I will ever ship again without it. The price was quite reasonable.I should mention that one of the packages weighed over 100 pounds. The strapping held up better than the box.Three cheers.

Basic kit, works as advertised. I was using my own money to buy for work so I bought JUST what we needed and nothing more. It does the job and fits the requirement. The lock up system takes some getting used to but it works.

My first issue I have with this product is the plastic buckles do not hold. Basically they are worthless.My second issue is the hand pull strapping tensioner that is supplied with the kit. The instructions on the box on how to use it are incomprehensible and how it is suppose to work is a mystery to this retired mechanical engineer.Save your money and don't make the same mistake I have. Days later I'm back on Amazon.com looking to buy buckles that hold and a tensioner that works.
