Samlex AmericaPST-3000-12 PST Series Pure Sine Wave Inverter - 3000 Watt

This is a heavy duty pure sine wave inverter. I have used it a couple of times and it seems to be working well although it sucks a lot of watts when using the microwave for just one minute. It does run the refrigerator and other smaller 120 devices easily though. I installed this in the rv dinette bench and ran the wires to the battery compartment right next to the dinette. I used the recommended 4/0 wire so be sure to buy the flexible stuff for working in close quarters.

What a nightmare! Unplugged my old inverter and hung this one in its place.Even ordered new bigger cables for it. Paired with a Midnight Classic 200 C.C.Worked great for 2 months. Came out to the garage one day and the red lighton a it was screaming loud. Did some basic troubleshooting and nothing.Wouldn't even power a 100 watt light bulb for four minutes before Red light.Called Samlex Tech Support; I am east coast; they are west coast.Tech guy was great, very helpful and ran me through lots of tests.Long story short; Samlex would replace the unit.Then began 2.5 months of hell. I had to package it up in the original box.Who keeps boxes. (I do ) Had to pay $80 to send the dead unit back.After 2 months of nonstop emails I finally got another unit.Quickly put it on CraigsList. Thanks for nothing Scamlex !Should have paid attention to the negative review !!!

I trust the Samlex brand and when looking for a quality inverter selected this 3000W unit. Works as spec'd however long term reliability is yet to be determined. Hard to find an absolute high quality inverter unless selecting a very expensive and heavy low frequency commercial model.

This unit replaced a Sunforce which melted when the cooling fans stopped working. Well made and has been working great since May 2016 running my house loads, TV, ceiling fans, lights, general outlet loads and hungry tower PC.Oct 2017. Unit stopped working whilst running house lights. A few 9W lights with nothing else. Am now in the interim running those lights on a small 300 W modified sine wave which I dug out from the cupboard which is twenty years old!! Beats me!

Very quite and see no RFI noise on my radios...expensive but if you are using HF rigs you will be happy with the low noise compared to other inverters.

I run this 24 seven and so far it’s been flawless. I bought it based on its reliability so time will tell. I do think the fan runs more often than it needs to and it’s fairly loud. I understand keeping the unit cool contributes to its reliability though .

I love xantrex i had a 3000 watts and a 2000 watts and they work great, but know i decide to test samlex pst 3000 watt inverter because since 2011 i had a 3000 watts 12 volt solar system for regular use doing day time, and since i got samlex 1 month ago it is working great, except i had to use a regular fan to avoid the inverter fan from coming on all the time, and since i did that no more inverter fan. But for know it is working great let see if it beats xantrex that it lasted me 6 years without a problem using it every day.

First one I bought was dead on arrival. Returned it, and got a second one. It worked for exactly 1 month. Since it has multiple overload protections and it's touted as one of the better inverters I wasn't worried about it too much. I overloaded it one time, for a few seconds, and it died with no buzzer, or lights or any notifications at all that it was being overloaded, and now it is dead.
