I noticed some straight hair styles on Pinterest where a big barrette is used to pin up one side of hair. The barrettes are either placed behind the ear alone the same line as one’s cheekbones or one can place them higher and along the same line as one’s eyes or eyebrows.These are pretty barrettes that look as advertised. They are a little heavy, but not uncomfortable or noticeably heavy. I pinned up a small amount of my very straight, thick, and heavy hair and it did not slip down my hair all night. I didn’t do aerobics with this barrette in my hair so I’m guessing it could slip down in that instance, but unlikely. The clip is pretty strong and closes tightly together. You can’t pin a huge amount of hair, but enough to get the hair out of one’s face and tucked behind the ear.

These are the BEST clips!!!! They are pretty, but more important to me, they hold my hair! I have thick hair, and am growing it out. These clips are the PERFECT length! They grip well. They are easy to open and put on, remove, and they stay on.I have even fallen asleep, and the pins were still on when I woke up; looser, and they shifted, since I move lots when I sleep, but they did not pull my hair at all.I use one or two per side versus three to five of all the other ones I have tried that are Bobby pin size.The clips are really well made; they are sturdy. The Rhinestones are all intact. I use the clips daily, and I am not a “gentle” type of person.Love! Love! Love! They're really pretty clips. I do love them except that they are a little hard to open and get into my hair. I wish they were easier to use.

These are unbelievable beautiful. Rose gold with incredibly sparkly clear rhinestones. Tight fit so holds hair very well. Seems to be high quality, especially for the price, but time will tell. I just wish I could have bought them in a smaller quantity as I have no use for more than 2. Guess I have back ups.

These look very elegant (& not cheap). But I think they would look best on thick hair. They run a little too long, when worn on the side to hold your hair up. Sadly, for these reasons, they will not work for me.🙁

Wow! I have very thick hair and this is the most secure Bobby-pin I have ever used and it looks just as pictured! Worth it!

These are a bit heavy for my child’s thin hair. She says they are so pretty but not super comfortable.
