Hands down, this is the best purple shampoo on the market. After trying at least 5+ different purple shampoos with very little success, I happened upon a "top 10 list" for purple shampoos. Scruples was listed as #1, so I decided to give it a try. It has more than exceeded my expectations! When dealing with purple shampoos, the darker the purple, the better the shampoo... this one is near black! I have used it with varying degrees of blonde throughout the years though I have not had platinum. It always keeps my color looking as though it was touched up yesterday! I recommend washing the hair with a different shampoo first as I don't find this one very cleansing and following with this shampoo. I also suggest leaving the shampoo on for a few minutes before rinsing as I have had much better results by doing so. When my hair was darker blonde (or really, an ugly brassy blonde without the use of purple shampoo), I would leave on for 5-10 minutes. When it was lighter, I would leave on between 3-5 minutes. If your hair is platinum, 2-3 minutes will likely be a sufficient amount of time to obtain optimal results. On occasion, if I left it in too long, my hair would tint a slight shade of purple, which I actually didn't mind, but it would always wash out the next time I shampoo'd my hair. If you're going to have blonde hair, Scruples is a must!As a frequent shopper on Amazon, I rely heavily on reviews and always strive to leave thorough reviews. Love this! I used to use shimmer lights and it made me break out because of the sulfates. I would get forehead acne because of it. Now I use this, I leave it in for about 2 minutes! Make sure you get the bottom of your hair, I focused too much on making sure it was rubbed into my roots and I should have squirted a little more to put on my ends**It does leave your hair with a little bit of a purple/gray tint if you leave it on for too long** I don't mind this though*UPDATE: I do like the shimmer lights for a BRIGHTER look, I do feel as though this dulls my hair more than shimmer lights*

I was shocked at the quality of this product. This shampoo is extremely dark and pigmented, so it tones hair in minutes, instantly if your hair is damaged. I dampen my hair, and work this through like a regular shampoo. I leave it on 1-2 minutes and it's absolutely perfect for obtaining a silvery blonde. If you are trying for/are maintaining silver hair, 5-10 minutes will do the trick I'm sure. I follow up with my regular shampoo to insure that the color is rinsed well.Pros:-Works very fast-Extremely dark pigment for maximum toning-Erased my brass to look exactly how it did after the initial toning last month-Easy to use, once a weekCons:-A little pricy, but worth it (Edit: It is now a five dollars cheaper than when I initially purchased it, and it lasts a very long time! 100% worth the price)-May damage hair a little, but can be fixed with a deep conditioner-Smells kinda like car shampoo if that makes sense, but it isn't too intrusive, and I'm used to it nowI don't give 5 stars often, but the pros far outweigh the cons to the point where this is still worth 5 stars.Edit 1/13/2016: Just a warning, but be careful with this stuff, it's powerful! If you use it continuously, your hair will turn silver -> gray -> greenish. Why? Your hair might take this unevenly, depending on the condition of different portions of your hair, so the more yellow hairs will mix with the gray (blue-toned), giving you a green glow.Edit 12/10/2016: I've used this again and again, and have experimented a bit more. Today, I applied it to yellow-toned platinum hair. I used it on lightly towel-dried hair (still dripping), and let it sit for 6 or so minutes. The result is a beautiful ashy, somewhat bright-silver blonde, it is a gorgeous color, and have already received compliments! My boyfriend, who doesn't usually care much about hair, says it's a great color. My house has horrible lighting, but here's a photo of it (it doesn't do the color justice).Tip: One time, I used this right after I bleached my hair, and it was much more porous than usual, so this product left bright gray streaks in my hair, even though my hair was soaking wet in the shower, and I rinsed it out immediately. If this happens to you, pick up a cheap clarifying shampoo (I used Suave), and with a little scrubbing, it will come out. :)Also, if you find it to be too strong, mix it with white shampoo, and it will help dilute the pigment.

Love this purple shampoo!!!!! I tried a drugstore one and did nothing to my hair but when I got this everything changed!! If I leave this in my hair for 8-10 minutes once a week while taking a shower my hair with literally turn blonder!!!! If you're looking for a great purple/toning shampoo for blondes this is it!!!

Love this shampoo! I have primarily white hair but with a grey streak (which is slowly turning white. This shampoo certainly brightens the white and calms the yellowing that grey hair does over time. The grey turns out to be more of a silver which is quite pretty next to the white. With that said you can not leave on hair very long. I only leave in my hair For a min or two while showering then wash is out by using Nexxus Therappe shampoo (or any of your choice) and then Nexxus Humectress conditioner. The process leaves my hair very silky and lush. If you do not wash it out with a shampoo it can and probably will turn your white/gray hair purple. If you like purple don’t do the second wash. I made these mistakes and at my age do not prefer the purple. The shampoo is very strong and does the job it is intended to do. I have tried many products/shampoos for whiten/brightening and by far I find this to be the best. Because of its strength I use only once a week or every two weeks (which I do) and only was once with this shampoo with second was with alternate. Experiment- I believe you will not be sorry for trying

This product turned the brass back to the original bright blonde. I use twice a week and leave it on for 5-10 minutes. Also, a big plus for this shampoo is it doesn't have an overpowering smell. I would definitely recommend this product and will buy again!

This stuff is pretty amazing. I had been using Clairol Shimmer Lights, similar to this, but I decided to give this stuff a try and I'm so glad I did. Unlike Clairol Shimmer Lights, this stuff doesn't leave my platinum hair with a purple tint if left on for more than 5 mins (the shampoo is dark purple in color). It lightens my platinum up and looks great. I've also used it when my hair was bleached to a golden color and it really did a great job at taking that brassy nasty goldish color your hair gets from bleaching it. This stuff also smells pretty good too. The only thing I don't like about it, is that it doesn't lather up as well, which is probably due to the fact that it is sulfate free, which is good for your hair! I wash my hair daily and only use this product every other day. This product does exactly what I hoped it would. Tried this shampoo a few days ago. I have white hair so did not leave this shampoo on my hair for very long but use it to ensure my white hair has no yellow.

Bought this for my sister as she had requested it. She seems very happy with the product and she is quite picky when it comes to hair care products.

I think this is the most effective silver shampoo I have come across. I have used it 2 or 3 times so far, and can clearly see the enhanced 'blueness'/coolness of my hair tone. My hair is a natural silver colour.

Works well unfortunately i"m allergic to the scent (I have asthma)
