Goldendoodle Dog Care and Understanding Book Paperback – November 14, 2012

If there were a zero rating, that's what i'd give this. This book is word for word, identical to dozens of other "Dog Care and Understanding" books merely with the word goldendoodle replacing the name of other dog breeds. There is nothing specific to the goldendoodle in the entire book other than three sentences explaining that goldendoodles are a mix of golden retriever and poodle.I suspected fraud,and researched the title on Amazon and found for sale dozens of identical books purported to be by various authors, specializing in various breeds.The book contains some helpful hints stolen from Cesar Milan, the Dog Whisperer, interspersed with utter stupidities and inconsistencies (One example:"standard goldendoodles weigh 30 to 45 pounds [they actually weigh twice that] on page 6, while on another page, the "author" recommends the strongest possible fence because goldendoodles are so big.) I paid $13 for this book, and am sending it back for a refund. Amazon should be ashamed for selling it and the other books "Anybreed Dog Care and Understanding Book" which are identical and identically misinforming, poorly spelled, ("spray [sic]your goldendoodle" as early as 8 weeks), filled with padding, poorly organized, and a total ripoff.Sample sentence: "Some of the best ways to teach your Goldendoodle not to jump up on people, and you don't want guests and family members avoiding your dog that jumps up on people, now do you?It is very annoying that someone is making money with this fraudulent publishing practice, and that Amazon is allowing and also making money off their good customers.

If you have never owned a dog before, and you don't mind digging through what appears to be a 7th grader's essay to find the occasional tidbit of useful, accurate information, this may be a good purchase for you. I was so distracted (and sometimes amused) by the horrific grammar, confusing punctuation, and blatantly immature writing style, I could not even get all the way through the book.Excerpt: "Your dog would be fitted with a collar that has some sensors that stick out and contact the dog's skin. From what I hear, the dog does not get a shock, but a surprising jolt, and since dogs cannot talk, we will really never know what they feel, until we find a dog that can talk. We can put him or her on television, and they can maybe tell us everything that is wrong with dogs and kids would love that story, but you get the idea!" ....OMG!!!Also, if you want accurate information specific to the goldendoodle, pass this one by. You won't find it here.

This is some sort of self published, unedited attempt at a guidebook. From the pixelated cover, to the table of contents with no page numbers, to the horrible, and I mean HORRIBLE grammar. This really seems like some sort of a joke. There are tidbits of information that may be useful, and there are others that seem downright scary. Has anyone ever heard of feeding your dog wet cotton balls to eat if the dog has accidentally swallowed glass? Supposedly the cotton fibers will gather up the glass shards and they will pass through the intestine. What??? Also, she talks about the benefits of "spraying" your dog. Yes "spraying" not "spaying", but "spraying." It was repeated over and over and cannot be attributed to being a typo. I cannot believe that this trash is allowed on Amazon. Isn't there some sort of quality control? I am not going to send it back because it is so funny to read out loud. It is truly hysterical.

Very bad book. I cannot recommend this to anyone .

This book is a very well written.I got a lot of good information from it.I have read it twice and will continue to refer to it for information

This book has a lot of information about raising a sweet pup/dog. I am a stickler for grammatical and spelling errors, so it was a little distracting to find so many. But, as far as information, it has plenty! Although, I would have liked to see more about the particular breed.

I enjoyed reading  Goldendoodle Dog Care and Understanding Book , it was fun and fascinating to learn some easy tricks to break my dog from some of his annoying habits. It was an easy read with many useful tips. If you have a dog that's misbehaving then this book is for you.

This book appears to be very cheaply produced. The paper is cheap, there are no pictures. The writing is repetitive and grammatically incorrect and at times, just difficult to understand. it is the worst dog care book I have ever looked at, or read!

I brought another book which was far better written and gives far more detail about the Golden Doodles - but you can't buy a better dog!
