Kyoto Agarwood Incense Sticks.
Agarwood incense is apparently made from resinated heartwood of the Aquilaria tree, Aquilaria malaccensis being the only species of the 21 species of the Aquilaria genus used to produce the incense. A delightful scent which when one focuses one's attention on for a short time, I find can be an effective antidote to hectic and noisy city living. The incense is at the more expensive end of the price scale, but it is a product made and shipped from Japan, and like most things Japanese, is of high quality and therefore still represents good value for money. Unlike other types of incense it does not fill the room with objectionable levels of smoke. Very pleasant indeed. Made in Japan.

Most beautiful scent
I love these incense sticks the scent is lovely i can't use any others now, however they are quite small and extremely fragile but personally I love them they are good quality, they do burn quite quick but I have noticed after burning only one incense sticks the scent lingers for days, its a bargain.

Lovely scent but no bamboo core thus difficult to use in standard incense burner
It smells absolutely wonderful before burning, a delicate scent that fills up my room. After burning, initial smokey aroma slowly evolves, but I'd expect it to remain more fragrance-less smoke. Nevertheless it is much less irritating that some incense I've tried in the past. Sticks are a bit shorter than standard incense and lack the bamboo core, which makes them impossible to use in standard incense holders sadly. I presumed they would come with a specialised box or tray for burning, but they don't which is a small drawback for me- thus 4 stars only. They are very fragile, when I tried gently inserting them into plasticine piece, the stems break easily. I'm yet to find a solution to that.

Wonderful long burning incense.
Long burning with a wonderful scent worth the relatively highish price.

Smells exactly like other far cheaper joss sticks
Disappointed - smells exactly like every other joss stick, nothing remotely special. Also arrived with half the contents smashed to bits.

Break quite easily
I was quite hopeful of the incense sticks as the scent sounded really intriguing. Firstly after delivery the delivery was pretty quick and they arrived well packaged. The box is a really nice clean white design and has a matte feel but looks luxurious. There’s plenty of sticks in the pack but they break very easily and don’t have an end so are quite hard to add to a holder. The scent is quite strong but I quite like it when they are like this, there’s limited smoke aswell. Highlights: plenty in the pack, smell nice, luxurious style box Negatives: no end so burns and crumbles right down, break/snap very easily

Smells really good and burns well

Beautiful earthy, fragrant scent. There’s no perfume so it’s not overpowering at all and no charcoal smell either. A pure burn and a clean scent.

This brand is produced by a Buddhist goods shop in Kyoto with local incense artisans. All of their scents are fine, but the hidden favorite in this line is White Tea. It has a very clean and elegant fragrance. You don’t smell much right at ignition, but as the smoke rises the scent slowly unfolds and spreads beautifully. Even after it finishes burning, the fragrance lingers for quite a while. It’s not like Indian incense with a strong, punchy scent. Instead, it has a modern, pleasant tea-like fragrance that isn’t overly sweet and lingers softly in the background (though I love both Indian and Japanese incenses). I really like it. I’ve seen a review saying there’s no wood (bamboo) stem and that it’s not from Japan, but traditional Japanese incense is typically solid (no bamboo core), which actually avoids the smell of burning bamboo. I hope the reviewer has not been going to Mumbai frequently thinking it is Tokyo. The product I received was clearly made in Japan.

The aromas even prior to lighting were pleasant. When burned, the smell is not overwhelming and the scent of sandalwood is still present. The price is quite steep, but I use this as a special treat as opposed to an every day incense.

So strong the box smells like sandalwood, very good scent burns well, easy clean up. Sticks are smaller than all my others, but there's a lot more of them and that's what is important to me
