Tiny but good & reliable
I love this little radio, its rugged for its small size Also keep in good ventilated area since it do get warm during long transmission periods but builtin cooling fan does a good job cooling it down I use this rig for ham bands on 2m and 70cm Perfect radio and good performance for it price

Awesome radio for off roading.
Great radio! Bought this radio to install in my Jeep for when we are off roading or doing our benefit runs. I expected it to work but I did not expect it to work as well as it does. It has a great range in it and really clear reception. Would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great radio that is still compact in size.

Bad intermod - Software sucks
While this radio works real well at a base station, if located far away from the inner city, you may find that intermod products are quite bad when within a mile or two of a business band UHF or VHF tower site, or railroad yard. The squelch, on full, will not stop it. Assuming none of the channels you listen to are open, the tone squelch works, but to monitor an open repeater will cause lots of annoying intermod as you drive around town. It might take two or three computers before you find one that actually works with the software they send you. Id never buy one again. Good luck getting it to work with Windows.

RX sensitivity is poor.
RX sensitivity is poor, even with sql set to 1. The included antenna is not very good. The CSP software is terrible, but you can "Unlock" this freq range. Use the QYT 8900D CSP and on Chirp use QYT 7900 for programming. Works well with a Dualband Antenna 2meter 70cm Mobile VHF/UHF Ham Radio (137-149, 437-480 Mhz). Downside is its only got a 200 channel memory.

Junk do not buy
Junk would not buy another one again in the process of returning it, could not get it to program. When I tryed to program the radio would shut off, downloading it was no issue went to write the frequencies I wanted onto it radio would pretty much crash. Could not use my windows 11 computer had to use my old windows vista computer and even then I could not install the software has to use it off a thumb drive. Unit is just a pain did some research online and some others had the same issue so I tryed the other radio I got because I had baught 2 of them and the other one did the same it started to write and crashed it wrote like 3 of the 100 channels I had wrote to it and now I can’t even wipe those off because the radios keep crashing. After this I will not buy from this company.

Great for the Money
Got this radio because I was not having any luck making contacts with my hand held Ham radio. I took it out of the box plugged it into the cigarette lighter in my truck and connected the Nagoya UT-72 Super Loading Dual Band Magnetic mount antenna and made a call... got an immediate response. That's without any programming or anything... straight out of the box. TX and RX were 5x5. Very pleased so far. Amazed at the size. Good choice for entry level, if you are like me, just trying to learn before spending a lot of money on fancy radio equipment. Would recommend. Would make a great field radio as well.

Pretty nice radio (when it's not a brick)...
EDIT: If you're going to program this radio, use CHIRP not CPS. When you try to update radio settings via CPS there must be some sort of glitch that bricks the radio. I've since switch to CHIRP with no issues whatsoever. Radioddity continues to be the best value in personal/amateur radios. Also, excellent customer service has made the repair/replacement process painless. I wish I had more time to use this radio, but twice in a row the radio has turned into a brick when updating the radio setting via the USB cable. The channels loaded fine, but for some reason when the settings are updated (settings mind you, not firmware) the radio resets and wont turn back on.

Good frequency range
Just what I needed another radio. Haa haa. I like having a radio in each of my vehicles just incase I need to call for help.
