The Sound Of Music - Piano Solo Phillip Keveren Series

These are intermediate grade arrangements Rogers and Hammerstein's great Sound of Music. I got it only for one song which is My Favorite Things, hoping I'd have a decent arrangement to work on and embellish which is something my piano teacher decades ago gave me lessons on.but as it stands I don't like the arrangement very much although this arranger is extremely popular.However as a good base with left hand patterns and the chords set out, you can add variations and make it your own. As the arrangement stand I don't like them all that much

"Sound of Music" has always been my favorite movie, ever since I first saw it in the theater with my mom when I was two. I've often wished for a book of piano arrangements from Sound of Music that were more than just the basic tunes. This is it! I already love Phillip Keveren arrangements, having attended a piano teachers' workshop he gave locally. So when I saw that he had written a book of SoM arrangements, it went to the top of my Christmas list. I love these! They're a bit challenging without being Chopin-difficult -- I could sightread most although I would need to work on them a bit before performing them. All of the main songs are included, and even one ("An Ordinary Couple") from the stage play, but not the movie. Just love this book.

Phillip Keveren arranges beautifully for piano. These are late intermediate to early advanced arrangments.

Nice arrangements. Mostly arpeggio chords. Only complaint: no lyrics. I would have liked the lyrics.

I love the Sound of Music but this is the wrong one I chose.

I'm an intermediate to Advanced piano player and I don't find these arrangement for you starting to play I prefer the original piano book their Arrangements actually better
