Perfect replacement
This was an exact replacement for my favorite "movie" camera. The one I use all of the time is having some problems and I wanted something like it and this is it. It only has one flaw, if you call it that, it's missing the hand strap and my old one is going to be a challenge to switch. The fact that this works just like the old one makes me happy.

Piece of junk! Wasted much time and cost me over $400
This used camcorder was a piece of junk!! We could not connect it to other video players as the connections were so worn out that the connections could not register. They were so loose that it was like they were 100 years old. It seemed like this thing had been used for 50 years and the owner gave it to the Salvation Army. Nothing worked- total piece of junk for over $400. Hard to believe.

A great option for older media
As technology moves on, older media with home movies and special events will become lost as the devices used to play them stop being produced. As and example, imagine that you had photos of a cherished relative or event stored on a 3.5in or 5.25 floppy disk. Good luck finding a disk retrieve them today. I purchased this to transfer some old 8mm and Hi8 video tapes into mp4 files. It worked like a charm.

Arrived on Time and Works as Advertised
This is a "renewed" Sony Digital8 camcorder, ordered to replace one that no longer plays tapes properly. The product arrived on time and works perfectly. Camcorder and accessories show no signs of wear and look as good as new . The vendor also emailed the Sony user guide, which was an unexpected bonus. I'm not rating the zoom or touch screen, since I am only using the camcorder to transfer tapes to computer.

Got much more than I expected!!!
It was like new out of the box from years ago! I had some old tapes I had forgotten about and bought this to see what was on them. My dad had a military funeral and had forgotten it was taped. Sad but memorable all the same. Worth every cent. Received a manual on-line and 1 year warranty!

Great low light average picture.
I did like the style of this camcorder as well as the size. Low light was great but overall picture quality was not quite as high as I had hoped. Ended up sending back and got an HDR style camcorder. More expensive but better picture quality.

Condition not as described
Was excited to have fully working device to edit my forgotten videos. Unfortunately, camera was not in professionally refurbished condition. First thing out of box a screw falls off. There is broken plastic pieces barely hanging on. The lense cap was broken. Even worse camera ate my videotape. Misleading about condition and overpriced for what was received.
