The description of this SIM card is misleading. It said the SIM can be used in Europe (including Turkey) after you top up a plan as the SIM does not come with any credits. I top up £10 for a PAYG basic plan of 7GB. But all the credits were gone with just a few mins usage of data at the Istanbul airport. I finally figured out that (at the official Vodafone UK website) the SIM will only work if you buy another EXTRA roaming plan after you top up a basic plan if you are using the SIM in Turkey. This is very misleading as the description had never mentioned about the EXTRA roaming plan. I now request a total refund of the SIM and the £10 top up cost which I was misled to pay.

I followed the directions and added money to the card on Vodaphone's website. On landing in Copenhagen, I could use data, make calls and send texts but despite multiple support calls with Vodaphone was never able to receive any calls or texts. Even Vodaphone's support tech themselves could not call me or text me. Vodaphone verfied that this was not an issue with my unlocked S9+ or with my configuration. I had the right access point selected etc. Vodaphone support told me that this SIM was manufactured and sold by them only to be used in the UK. So the reseller on this listing at the time I ordered was selling cards that were not ever intended to work in Europe. Vodaphone support was helpful and said they do sell cards authorized for Europe and they offered to change the authorization of this SIM for me but this change would take three days to process through their system and my entire trip to Europe was only four days so it would have been pointless. This is now the second SIM I've tried buying from Amazon for use on a trip to Europe. The first was from Orange and neither one ever worked properly. It's incredibly disruptive to land, not have a working phone and spend hours on support calls. So, I'm now giving up. Next trip I'm going to buy a SIM card in a shop on arrival. At least I'll be able to ensure that the SIM actually works in my phone and in that country before leaving the shop.

It makes being away from the UK a bit easier.

With years of experience buying foreign sims, I think people having problems with this product don't quite understand the process, or what they're buying. And, I suspect many people don't understand what "carrier unlocked" means. I bought 2 of these sims, topped them up with 10 UK pounds each for a voice/text/data bundle. When I landed in Paris I turned both phones on and they registered with the network. Moving to different cities / countries was seamless. We were able to keep in touch with voice and text, plus use the data for Internet, Facetime and maps. Tethering also worked well. UKSIMS answered my e-mailed questions quickly and accurately.
