Another GREAT book by Shelley Shepard Gray
DescriptionNew York Times bestselling author Shelley Shepard Gray spins a beautiful holiday tale of finding love in unexpected places.Twenty-year old Ruth Stutzman is a wonderful caregiver—but she has no experience with kinner. Laid off from her job at a retirement home due to budget cuts, she’s relieved to find work—even if it means temporarily watching widower Martin Rodes’ brood of six!Martin has done the best he can since his wife’s passing, but he and the children need help. Their house, once full of laughter and light, has been darkened by sadness. Soon after Ruth arrives, the children are drawn to her warmth and gentleness, and so is Martin, even though he feels it’s wrong. But the harder he tries to ignore her, the deeper he begins to care for this attractive young woman who has brought joy back into his children’s lives . . . and his own. Each passing day brings the Rodes closer to Ruth . . . and closer to Christmas, when she will have to say goodbye. Ruth, too, cannot deny the bond she feels with the children—and with Martin. When her old job becomes available again, Ruth finds herself torn. How can she stay with the Rhodes? Yet how can she go?My ReviewThis book is a GREAT Christmas story. It is about Martin Rhodes and his 6 kinner (children). Martin is a widower and it is Christmas time and he works at a Christmas Tree Farm. He has to find a housekeeper and babysitter for his 6 kinner. These kinner are not the easiest ones to take care of either. As the book starts, Lovina Keim, who is in her 60’s is the housekeeper and babysitter, but she has had it because the children will not do what she says. So, she up and quits.Lovina does find them another person, Ruth Stutzman. Ruth has had a rough childhood, losing both of her parents at an early age. So, Ruth takes care of the children and of Martin, too. In the meantime, Martin cannot believe how well behaved his kids are around Ruth. They love her in no time at all. In the meantime, the kinner get chicken pox, what a dreaded disease. I remember those things. Yes, all 6 have it. So, Martin asks Ruth to move in and Ruth is not so sure about that. But, she finally decides that the kinner need her and Martin does as well. In the meantime, Martin starts to fall for her. This is all I am going to say, because I don’t want to ruin the story for you. I would suggest this book to all my friends and family.Thank you, Shelley for giving us such a GREAT book to read as Christmas draws near. I loved this story and I know you will also.

Wonderful Christmas story!
Grab a hot chocolate and get ready for the perfect Christmas read! Snowfall by Shelley Shepard Gray was a novella, but the story wasn’t short on heart warming. You will love getting to know Ruth, Martin, and his six kinner during Christmas break from school. Every challenge the kinner presented to Ruth, she met head on. I loved how she handled the surprise she brought on the first day in the picnic basket. It made me think of her as an Amish Mary Poppins. My heart broke for the way that Ruth had grown up. Being passed from one family to another would be a hard way to be raised. I think that is why I really enjoyed the peek into Ruth’s apartment. It was her private sanctuary, and private was something that she didn’t have while being a guest in everyone’s house. While I’m sure she was lonely not having a family of her own, it was comforting to know that she had a place and things that she was happy to have that were just hers. The children’s quotes at the beginning of each chapter were adorable, and when they involved Frank, they were hilarious. Enjoy the Christmas spirit, with a lonely widower, a woman who puts her heart into everything, six rambunctious children – with chicken pox, and Frank the dog. You’ll find yourself reading this every Christmas season!

Delightful read
Ruth Stutzman has grown up being shifted from home to home, relative to relative because of losing her parents at a young age. As an adult Ruth worked at a retirement home until budget cuts, Lovina an elderly lady suggests to Ruth she take her place as a babysitter for widower Martin Rhodes six (unruly) children until Christmas break is over and the children return to school. With no experience with kids, Ruth agrees. She needs the money to pay her bills. Ruth , with her gentle ways, gets the house running smoothly and brings laughter and love to the Rhodes home that has been missing since Martin's wife passed away.Christmas is fast approaching and Ruth will have to say good-bye. Ruth has had many transitions in her lifetime but this time it's different . She feels the bond with these children and with Martin. How does Martin feel?First time reading a Shelley Shepard Gray book. I enjoy her writing style.

What a wonderful Christmas in Sugarcreek, Ohio.
What a wonderful Christmas story. Widower Martin Rhodes needs help with his six children. Ruth was just laid off from her job and is an answer to Martin's fervent prayer. A relationship develops as Ruth cares for the children. It was also nice to revisit characters from Shelley's "Days of Redemption" series. The ending is not really a surprise but it is wonderful and the ending that I hoped for. The characters seem real with foibles and quirks and I could imagine them being my neighbors. Well done Shelley! - Also, I'm part of Shelley's Buggy Bunch and I received a free copy but I also purchased a copy.

Snowfall, (A Days of Redemption Christmas Novella), By: Shelley Shepard Gray. I ordered this book from Amazon for my Kindle as soon as a 'title' appeared, with no knowledge of content, but knowing I love Ms. Gray's books. I was not dissappointed! How six children can change a life
A very good story of how six children on Christmas break changed the life of the sitter who was hired to care for them. How six children with chickenpox caused that sitter and their father to fall in love. A nice easy afternoon read.
