Parker's Astrology: The Definitive Guide to Using Astrology in Every Aspect of Your Life Paperback – 2010

While this book is full of almost gaudy, colorful illustrations that entice the eye, the information is not organized in the most user-friendly fashion for learning. I much prefer the book, "Astrology For Yourself: A Workbook for Personal Transformation" by Douglas Bloch and Demetra George. To contrast the styles, the workbook presents more directly useful information through exercises that begin almost immediately, while the Parker's book feels as if it's just plodding along with fanciful wordy pages of overwhelming information. I suppose I just appreciate getting to the direct chart information and keywords that cut to the heart of each sign as opposed to pages of illustrations, which, while helpful generally are just too much to absorb for me.I am a beginner. Although I've been reading about astrology for years, I am only now really studying how to interpret charts, etc.

Well written and packed with a lot of information on understanding and performing astrology.

Still needs more work on retrogrades and what they mean

I have had a version of this book since about 1987. This was my first Astrology book. I have a few different copies of it now. I give this to anyone that I think is interested in Astrology. It's a great place to start! It is put together quite well and is a good reference book; ephemeris included!
