If you are cutting inside it's a must have to catch most of the fine dust. Only a little dust goes straight down. Outside, it keeps the sawdust from blowing in the wind and in your face. Also the dust is great for making wood putty that perfectly matches the wood you are cutting. It fits my 4-1/2" DeWALT circular saw.

I would give this a 5, but it is a replacement for the one that came with my sander. The original fell apart the very first day I used it. So I will see how this holds up. It definitely cuts down on the amount of dust.

This is exactly like the one that came with my DeWALT sander. I use it on other tools and don't need to shower after woodworking in my garage.
