Why use dextrose and sucrose rather than natural stevia for sweetner?

Tailwind uses dextrose/glucose and sucrose to address the "magic window" immediately post exercise when your glycogen stores are depleted. It is during this special time period when your body is actually designed to absorb more glucose due to the body's insulin sensitivity. The glucose/sucrose combination together with sodium allows Tailwind to take advantage of the glucose and fructose pumps in the small intestine - the most efficient way for your body to absorb nutrients. Amino acids also have been shown to increase absorption of glucose. Stevia has no calories and only acts as a sweetener (200 times sweeter than sugar in the same concentration) - providing no value in the recovery process.

I see from the ingredient list that this product contains amino acids, but how much? Where can I find a breakdown of how many milligrams of each?

Our amino acid proportions are proprietary, but combined with the brown rice protein results in a protein that is 75% complete. For comparison, whey protein isolate is about 24% complete, and soy protein is about 30% complete. This is important because it's only the complete protein that is used for recovery (rebuilding muscle); the incomplete protein is burned as fuel, or stored as energy. You would need to eat about 30 grams of whey protein isolate to get the same muscle-building efficacy found in 10 grams (one serving) of Tailwind Rebuild.
