Pros:- lightweightCons:- when collapsed, it does not stay together as a whole, it tends to open (missing a some kind of closure to keep the 3 pieces close to each other) which makes them hard to fit in the strap of a backpack.- takes a lot of room when collapsed (I guess the telescopci kind would be better)- bottom piece (little round ring) broke after 1 use

Unfortunately when they refer to walking "sticks" and show two walking sticks together in the pictures I think I'm buying a pair. Wrong! You're only getting one.

This is the third trekking pole I've purchased and this is my favorite by far. I was impressed the second I took it out of the box. Very well made and feels durable. It snaps together in two sections with a small button you press down and then slide the sections into place where they firmly lock. Adjusting the height takes seconds and is secure and doesn't slide. The handle and strap are comfortable. Disassembles and folds up just as easily. Giving it 4 stars because it has not been trail tested, but I don't think it's going to disappoint!!!

Very easy to get all segments to snap together. Each segment twist and lock. The whole thing felt very light weight. And it is very sturdy when applied pressure on it. When folded up, it is short enough to fit in my backpack.The stick is actually a little too long for me. But, it turned out that each segment can be unscrewed and removed. All segments are the same diameter in size. So, I removed one middle segment and the remaining segments still fit and connect properly. Now the stick is shorter and felt more comfortable for me. It now feels like a walking cane. And I got it adjusted to the height just the way I wanted.

Sturdy. No issues with strength. The tip is a hard material and makes lots of noise. The adjustable upper section needs to be very tight to avoid slipping under pressure. Folded, it was a nice size to slip into or in pockets of carry on luggage, but it is otherwise awkward to carry folded up without its bag (sections unfold easily).

This is probably the best purchase I ever made!! Just got back from a family vacation on Kauai and my Alafen Aluminum Quick Lock Collapsible Ultralight Walking Climbing Stick Trekking Hiking Pole never failed me. Not a great hiking enthusiast, this was a last minute buy that I couldn't have done without!! It is light, easy to pack, easy to assemble, and easy to use on any trail, be it sandy, muddy, rocky, or filled with tree roots. It got me up and down on every trail we hiked, and as I continually told my grown children, have stick will travel!!

Excellent product. Bought it recently and took it to New Zealand for hikes over the Tongariro Alpine Crossing and Hooker Valley Track at Mt. Cook among others. I noticed my friends had issues with their hiking sticks while mine performed perfectly providing sturdy support while also opening or stowing quickly and easily. Shipping was quick. Highly recommend this product.

Bought this foldable hiking pole for my mother, as she already had a regular one. She's super happy with the new one.The quality of the pole is quite impressive, very sturdy and lightweight at the same time.The pole also looks awesome, and now she wants me to get her a spare one!(I have to explain to her that the Pink one is not in stock anymore... that's the only problem here!)

I have used this hiking pole on two cruises during excursions. I have a bad ankle and walking a lot or on uneven ground causes a lot of pain.

I live in a rural mountain area and walk a hilly, gravel/dirt road every day - needed a stick after using a small tree branch for awhile ;) -- this stick weighs nothing, snaps...

Our first time using hiking walking sticks. They did a good job for us. Didn't like that you had to continue to tighten them as they come loose with jarring of use.

The product is very strong and lightweight. Definitely serves it's purpose when I'm out on my hikes. Will buy more later on. Fully satisfied for the price.

It worked well with variable usage 10 minutes here, 10 minutes there for 2 days. Then it broke.Unfortunately it left me sort of stranded. Very inconvenient.

Broke first time I used them hiking. Wouldn't stay together no matter how hard I twisted . Only plus was they are small enough to put in backpack. I returned.

I'm not an experienced hiker. But, the tip broke off on the first use. It's ok for small, easy hikes.
