AVOID... Will not work on T-Mobile or Verizon, Support is incompetent!
I have been using my cell phone with T-Mobile unlimited data (One Plus International Plan) in hotspot mode for nearly two years now. I have a TP-Link that connects to the hotspot and bridges the connection to my router over Ethernet. It works amazingly well and T-Mobile has never given me any grief. However, having a cell phone connected 24x7 in hotspot mode is not ideal and I have overheated two phones causing the battery to swell and crack the display. I usually just buy another cheap phone and swap the SIM card into it but this time I wanted to try something built for what I intend to do with it. I purchased this product the SLK-R4008-LTE modem. I had previously read all of the questions and answers so I new all of the basic troubleshooting steps to take. After troubleshooting the device for some time on my own I decided to send a message for support. In the message I specifically stated the steps I had already taken so they would not send me a canned response. That was too much to ask for though as I received a reply of "try this and that". After some back and forth the tech asked me to install a remote desktop application so he could login and send some AT commands. I had already run a few in the custom commands menu but thought they may know better being the experts and all.Wow, was I wrong! After installing the remote access application and setting up a 2nd WiFi connection (Which they did not ask for but needed) I gave support access to my PC. They immediately opened my browser and downloaded PuTTY. I work in the Cybersecurity sector so I know this isn't a harmful application but that still doesn't mean they did not need to ask first. I watched as they fumbled about trying to enter commands that failed one after the other. They would enter the same incorrect command multiple times expecting it to suddenly work. I literally took control back a few times to correct the command or fix their spelling error. About 10 minutes in they changed my desktop resolution and I could no longer see a portion of my desktop. A few minutes went by and I noticed the mouse go to the non-visible portion of my screen so I killed the connection. Maybe it's just me but I don't feel comfortable allowing someone in China access to my computer if I can't see what they are doing.By this time we had spent over an hour trying to fix the issue to no avail. They asked me repeatedly if my SIM card had data and could it be used as a hotspot etc. They really questioned me like they did not believe I had been using it for this. I even included a picture of my data usage for that SIM card from my T-Mobile account. I average just over 600GB per month using that SIM in cellphones as a hotspot. Clearly the SIM is not the issue as it wasn't locked to any specific IMEI. They asked me to give them one more chance to fix it so I setup a bunch of monitoring software on my PC and let them connect again. They continued to try to change my monitor resolution and entered the same incorrect and failed commands as before. They didn't even know how to set PuTTY defaults and entered the info manually every time.I could no longer take it and booted them from my machine again. Being that I have a pretty high level of IT experience I went ahead and started troubleshooting through PuTTY myself and could see that the SIM was indeed working, registering with T-Mobile and then being hung up on I decided to contact T-Mobile's network engineering dept. After they watched the SIM registration on their end they could see that T-Mobile was blocking the Chinese 4G Modems IMEI. Apparently, Verizon is also taking the same approach.TLDR:Chinese 4G modem with incompetent support who have questionable remote desktop practices.T-Mobile confirms the device is being actively blocked and will not work.Verizon appears to be blocking the device as well. Another user review seems to confirm this.

Works as advertised!
I am writing this review using WiFi through Cricket / ATT wireless routed by this slick SerialLink MoFi router. Packed professionally with everything including microSIM adapters. Admin software is basic yet sufficient. Download the user manual for simple instructions to get up and running in 10 minutes. Working with Cricket / ATT SIM now. Testing Verizon SIM soon. Saved a significant amount over several competitors. Has a USB port that may allow this to work as a storage host alsl. Extremely pleased so far.

update
this was working good on lan and wifi for about 4 hours with verizon sim card, then it just stopped working. Did not change any setups, after it was working. It just stopped all the lights were on. Tried sim card in another hotspot and it was working, put it back in router nothing, even with correct apn. Returning it.

Heavy Use >1 Year, No Problems, Maint. Free :)
Other bad reviews puzzle me. Used since 3/2019 in an RV full time no issues. Has an abundance of software setting features (most of which are optional). Sim card allows bypassing the need for a modem.

Works great with AT&T in rural area
We live in a rural area with no access to high speed internet. For the past few years we have used a mobile hotspot with AT&T. Our speeds average around 7 mbps which is adequate for streaming video. The issue has been finding a reliable mobile router. We have used several Netgear devices and they worked okay but required several restarts a day due to excessive disconnects and buffering.I decided to try this commercial router from Seriallink and am extremely impressed. The setup was easy after putting in the sim card and powering on. No other configuration needed. The device is working great and no buffering on our TVs, The speed is the same before but the hardware reliability is much better than any of the Netgear routers that we have used. The price was reasonable and I highly recommend this mobile router for those in rural areas looking for stable mobile hotspot access.
