I've been waxing my eyebrows and top lip for years and my wax pot was on it's last legs and needed replacing. This Tress Wellness wax pot is brilliant, so much better than my previous heater because it has a digital display to show the accurate temperature and the inner container that holds the wax is silicon, which is so convenient when it comes to cleaning the wax out. It looks really pretty too.This is an excellent kit in that it comes with a decent amount of wax to get you started, both large and small waxing sticks, and these are cheap and readily available when they run out, and a before and after waxing spray to calm the skin down. The instruction booklet is full of useful information about how to operate the heater, how to wax, and lots of tips and dos and don'ts. Well worth reading before you get going.I did a patch test on my forearm with the wax and happily, I haven't had any reaction to it. It's a pleasant wax which melts quickly and it's a lovely honey colour too. Truthfully, I haven't used it fully yet because I'll have to wait for my hairs on my face and legs to grow back before I can really try it out, though I feel confident that I won't have any problems.

The box that this kit arrived in was slightly battered which is no big deal unless you plan on giving it as a gift. The kit inside however is really good. The heater unit has a heat display and and a knob to alter the setting. The was is dropped into a silicone bowl so cleaning is as easy as letting the wax harden again then flexing the bowl so it falls out. You can keep this in a bag for reuse later.You get five reasonably large bags of wax beads, unscented so less likely to irritate but they are coloured which I assume is simply for the aesthetics. There are also 20 large-area and 10 small-area spatulas and a bottle of pre-treatment and post-treatment spray to condition and then soothe the skin.I think there are times where strips have an advantage because a couple of times I tore the wax and left a section behind by removing perhaps a little too quickly (or roughly) or possibly I applied too thin a layer?It would have been easy to make a very industrial-looking warmer but to their credit the manufacturer has made a real effort to make everything look visually pleasing and easy to use.

Really great all-round kit.You get a lot in this kit, making it great value, and a really useful starter set for anyone who wants to try waxing at home.It's always a bit nerve-wracking to do your own waxing the first few times, and honestly there are parts of me that I really wouldn't do myself, but for legs and underarms this is great, and so convenient.The heater is very easy to use, making it easy to get your wax to the right temperature and consistency, so you get the best possible result. I did like the whole silicone bowl thing as well, it made clean-up super-quick. Not being a 'pink and floral' kind of person, I also really liked the dark colour and plainer design of this kit. It felt a lot less Barbie and more grown up!The hard wax beads in this kit are also also unscented, which is great for sensitive skin, though I did do a patch test first, the day before (I heated a bead of wax up to semi-soft in hot water, and stuck it onto a plaster, which I applied to the inside of my elbow and left there for about eight hours).The kit is nicely boxed, so would make a great gift, and includes the heater, the silicone pot, five packets of unscented hard wax pellets, a small spray-on bottle of pre and post wax solutions, thin and thick spatulas, plus instructions with a handy guide for first-time (and seasoned) home waxers.Don't forget to use your pre-wax spray as well as your post-wax spray--they really do make a huge difference. And I always find it better to use a pretty generous amount of wax, particularly if you're doing longer pulls. You don't want it to be too thin so that you have to start picking and prying it off!In all this is a great kit with everything you need to home-wax, and with a little practice you can get really good results. Youtube is a wealth of inspiration, tips and encouragement, and even allowing for the fact that you need to buy wax, these kits pay for themselves very quickly. Happy with this.
