Easy setup, works great in areas of low sun
Works great. No issues. I live in the hills in a dark little valley on the shady side of the hill and it works great inside my 5th wheel. Easy setup and really delivered. Works almost too good

Good Starter Unit
First attempt at hydroponics. Seems to be working well. I am currently growing tomatoes.

Solid performer
Love the timer, love the water level window, love the adjestable light. I found you must have close attention on the kit those forst days growing the seedlings-- but then aftetwards, follow the program, and a little misting once or twice, some clipping of leabes to harvest my herbs and greens was all I did. I dont lnow how competitive a value for the number of plants it is now, thats my reason for four stars, but it works as well as it needs to-- I would recommend the seeds of micro tomato 'Red Robin' - regular to good tomato taste, just bigger than cherry size, heavy little determinate producer- if you want to grow something besides leaves. Despite the picture, dont try sunflowers. The kit does not come with seeds.

Hydroponics!
If I could give 10 stars, I would! I am not the best person to put things together, but this was an easy assemble and even easier to maintain. Just look at the exponential growth! I’m thoroughly impressed. Now I need the 4 tier Smart Hydroponics system. ~ Talisha Hunter

It will make a great gift
It is a gift that has not been given yet. It looks really great though so I'm sure that it will be appreciated at Christmas.

Very basic system, not ideal for a beginner.
I have been growing herbs in similar contraptions for about ten years now and this is my fourth growing system. Therefore I feel that I do have a decent frame of reference on this subject. And this is why I gave it just four stars. I really was hoping to like this one as much as I do my other systems but it is not the case. It is a very basic device with no frills and some strange features. First of all, it is not very well built. The light hood feels sort of flimsy. It was not hard to put together but had I not seen these devices before I could have had trouble assembling it. The instructions are not very helpful especially if you are a beginner. For some reason the growing baskets have square bases but I tested this device with traditional round inserts that I have plenty of and they are possible to use, which means that replacements will be easy to find. And you will eventually need to find replacements. Speaking of which, this set was very "frugally" put together. I have never came across a set that did not offer almost any spares (no extra inserts, or sponges or even stickers). But this is all minor compared to the fact that this contraption has no timer. How is this even possible our day and age? My other systems each have various duration timers, calendars (to track when planted), reminders to fertilize and so on. And having no timer means that you need to physically come to it and turn it on every morning and remember to turn it off every night.... and what if you left for a trip? Personally, I strongly prefer timers. This also does not have a water level sensor. In all fairness, there is a transparent window on the front but one has to remember to check it periodically. Now for the fertilizers included with the set. They do not give the chemical composition of each (I assume it is something with nitrogen?). They dissolved quickly, easy to use and handy measuring cups are included. The controls are located on the top of the light hood and are nice looking and easy to understand. However, when the on/off button is pushed, it produces a loud sound. I do not understand why it needs this feature. I mean, you are standing right there and can plainly see if the light goes off or comes on - why the noise? On the positive side, this device can be used successfully and I did plant it. Also, for the first time for me - no pre-seeded sponges or seed packets were included. So, if you are trying this sort of thing for a first time, make sure you have seeds. In this case I truly believe, if it is your first attempt at growing "kitchen hydroponics", save yourself some trouble and get a more sophisticated device. For a little bit more money (or same amount if you catch it on sale) you can get a helpful technology that will assist you in growing things successfully. Because (and I am speaking from experience) the day will come and you'll forget to turn on the lights, or to fertilize, or to add water..... or ALL of the above. On the other hand, if you are a super-organized individual with a lot of spare time and some gardening knowledge - get this system, it does have all necessary features to grow plants.

We used to buy basil plants at our local grocery store until they stopped stocking them. We were looking for an alternative and this hydroponics system seems to be a viable option. As I'm unfamiliar with hydroponics this has been quite the learning experience. The included instructions were sufficiently clear but a few more pictures or diagrams wouldn't have hurt especially for the beginner. You get everything you need to get started in the box except for the purified water and seeds. I used distilled water as it was what I had available. I also used oregano and parsley seeds (no basil) as it was all I could find in stock this late in the season. To set it up you assemble the parts as instructed. Everything slides and snaps easily together. Then you fill the two plant bottles with purified water. Shake them until the tablets and beads dissolve in both bottles. The plant food solution is added to purified water at a ratio of 5ml plant food to 1 liter of purified water. I used 3 liters so I had to add 15 ml from each bottle. Note that one of the measuring caps on the bottles had a small hole and leaked solution. It appears the plastic wasn't properly extruded and left a gap. The cap on the other bottle was fine and I ended up using it to measure out the plant food solution. Once the seeds are done soaking for an hour add them to the recess in one of the sponges. Place the sponge in a holder that's suspended partly in the water solution. They suggest placing 3 seeds per pod. Cover the top of the holder with an included sticker and place a clear cap on top. The pod should now be ready for germination. Once you work out the process it's fairly simple and straightforward. The process then proceeded quickly for all 12 pods. When you turn the unit on the pump will automatically activate so make sure it's filled with the water solution. The pump is noticeably quiet so you could place it in a bedroom (which I did) and even sleep with it on (assuming you're not a light sleeper). The lights, though, are bright and there's no way I can sleep with them on. The unit cycles 16 hours of light then 8 hours of darkness so if you turn it on first thing in the morning by the time you sleep it should be off. I opted to simply turn it off manually at night. There doesn't appear to be a way to let the pump run while the lights are off so it's completely off. Hopefully that doesn't adversely affect the plants. If so I'll move the unit out of the bedroom. So far I'm optimistic about this hydroponics system. It's compact enough that it can be placed on a shelf and it's quiet enough not to cause a disturbance. All I have to do is ensure the fill indicator for the plant food water solution doesn't drop below the minimum 1.5 liter mark. It could benefit from some more granular controls but it's such a big step up from the constant watering and limited daylight (especially in winter) that it's not really a concern. Recommended.

Because I live in a place that has long, cold winters, the desire for fresh, home-grown herbs doesn't align well with our seasons. I was tired of buying sad-looking basil and parsley from the grocery store, so I decided to give this indoor hydroponics kit a try. My wife and I thought it would also be a fun project to do with our kids. The soil-free nature of the system seemed like the perfect, low-mess way to get into indoor gardening. Setting up the unit was incredibly straightforward and took less than 15 minutes. You just assemble the light stand, fill the reservoir with water and the included liquid plant food, and pop in the seed pods. The automated timer for the light and the water pump makes the whole process nearly foolproof. The pump is quiet; you can barely hear it running. We were amazed at how quickly the first seeds sprouted, and we saw green shoots in just a few days! The kids loved checking on the "kitchen garden" every morning, and watching the plants grow so fast has been a genuinely fun family experience. We've had great success with basil, dill, parsley, and we're going to try chili peppers next. The only minor things to be aware of are that the light is intensely bright, so you'll want to place it somewhere it won't be disruptive in the evening, and you need to prune the more aggressive plants like basil so they don't block light from their neighbors. This has been one of the best purchases for our kitchen in a long time, and I highly recommend grabbing one.

When it comes to hydroponics systems, this is definitely on the simpler side. But that said, this is a great tool to make it super simple to grow your own herbs indoors. This is a complete kit and comes with everything you need to get started. I ordered this to set something simple up in my basement and to encourage the kids to learn more about growing fruits and vegetables. This hydroponics system takes care of three essential factors. Water, light, and oxygen. You would essentially fill up the water tank, place your planters and seeds, plant food, and just turn it on. The water pump runs every 30 minutes and waters the roots. It automatically turns off when there's not enough water to prevent the system from running dry and getting damaged. I believe the water tank can hold up to 3.5 litres of water. You also get two different light modes: one for vegetables, and the other for flowers and fruits. There's a built-in timer that automatically turns the grow light on for 16 hours and off for 8 hours, which is meant to mimic the natural sunlight. There are 12 separate openings, so you can plant up to 12 different herbs. This is great, especially if you are planning to grow your own organic veggies for personal use. Since there's a grow light and water is always there, your plants and herbs usually grow much faster under these conditions. This is definitely a great starter kit, especially for youngsters who are interested in automating the process.

The kit includes everything you need to start this lovely hobby. I’ve found it very useful and fun since it can be done entirely indoors, doesn’t take up much space, and uses very little energy to operate. The quality of the accessories is acceptable, although some of the plastic parts don’t look very sturdy. The lamp, while it stays in place, is made of flexible plastic that could break easily if not handled carefully. However, since it’s not something I plan to move around constantly, that’s not a major concern for me. As mentioned, it includes everything except the seeds. Depending on what you choose to plant, some may grow to full size, so it’s important to be mindful of what you sow—the space is limited, and plants like certain fruits or herbs that spread quickly could outgrow it easily.

The Litokam 12-Pod Hydroponics Growing System is an excellent choice for anyone looking to grow fresh herbs or vegetables indoors year-round. Its 24W LED grow light provides strong, balanced illumination that promotes fast and healthy plant growth, while the quiet water pump keeps nutrients circulating efficiently without adding noise to your space. The 3.5L water tank allows for longer intervals between refills, and the 24-hour timer with two grow modes (vegetable and flower/fruit) makes it easy to customize settings for different plants. Setup is straightforward, and most users will see sprouting within a few days. While the system works great overall, the plastic build feels a bit lightweight, and the fixed height of the light arm could be more adjustable for taller plants. Verdict: A well-designed, easy-to-use indoor garden kit that delivers strong results and quiet performance — perfect for beginners or home chefs who want fresh herbs at their fingertips.
