Q: What size is it; would it fit 71/2: what is it made of?

I’ve got 7 1/2 and it works great! It’s the only hat that I’ve found that I can actually fit into, everything else runs small. I’ve tried like 5 now. I’m getting another one now

Q: How stiff is the brim of this hat?

Not stiff at all, gets floppy, looks goofy and can't see from under due to rim falling down into and around your face. Bought same hat at Tractor Supply and it is holding up well. Make me wonder if these are counterfeit, maybe. Brim or rim needs to be stiffer!

Q: Does the mesh portion provide much sun protection? (think bald head underneath...lol)

You can definitely see through the mesh, but it is a tight weave and would probably block most of the sun... it's a comfortable hat overall, but if you are sun sensitive, you might want to consider something solid.

Q: Is this hat crushable/packable?

The hat does flatten in a suitcase. I have folded it as we'll.
