I have an older fur baby with reduced Kidney functions, and was told by the Vet to add this product. It appears that the little guy feels better now that he is using this, and I will be ordering more.

If I could give negative stars I would. We purchased this item to help our cat that was diagnosed with Kidney disease. He will NOT eat any of his food when we mix this in it. It has a VERY STRONG ODOR to it. We have tried all sorts of flavor foods to perhaps mask the taste/smell and he won't eat if this is in his food. We gave the dosage on the package and even tried splitting it throughout the day in smaller doses. Nothing works so we wasted $23 for nothing since this product in not returnable. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

(EDIT: new formulation seems to have changed! They have different flavoring added and, likely, different amount of active ingredients, and, therefore, serving size. This review is for the old variation and not representative of the product in its current form!) Kitty liked the taste and ate it up in her wet food! I only had the product for 1 month, so I can't say how well it worked; kitty's blood work is still a while away. I got it as a replacement for epakitin, since it's cheaper and has the same active ingredients. Be aware that the serving size (2.5g) is bigger than epakitin's 1g, because renakitin has the flavoring added. All I can say is my cat's condition remained the same while on the powder. Don't overuse the supplement - it has a lot of calcium, which in itself can make the cat feel bad and damage their health. I'm considering getting some other phosphorus binder and switching it up every now and then, to avoid hypercalcemia.

I was using another product that was effective but had become too expensive, so I decided to try this product based on cost and the reviews. My old cat maybe weight 10 lbs at most and getting her to eat enough is a chore. Imagine my surprise when I opened the bottle and found a large scoop with instructions to use a full scoop mixed in food twice a day. I can only assume that this product was intended for large dogs, because there is no way I could get any of my cats to down that much powder in their little cans of cat food.

I am now using this instead of Epakitin as it is much cheaper but still does as promised. Recommend.
