What is legnth of canopy collapsed

It's definitely not 4ft. It's like 6ft tall when collapsed. Maybe 6 and a half feet. It's much larger than the regular consumer ones, because it has way more cross-supports. It's a sturdy canopy, much more robust than the cheap ones that are basically just a square frame with almost no bracing, but it's not exactly ultra-portable, you'll need a large vehicle SUV/Van and even then need to lay down the back seats to fit it inside.

How much weight can the frame support hanging from it?

I don't know the exact amount but we hang signs..banners and lights from ours..its pretty darn sturdy compared to the 79 dollar Wal-Mart tents

Ours collapsed and poles snapped the very first time we used it. there was a thunderstorm and mild wind. Amazon refunded. VI do not recommend. Go with Coleman.
