There is no straw in this hat it is 100% synthetic which means it does not breathe and therefore holds in the heat which doesn't allow for air circulation resulting in NO cooling. It is like wearing a sealed plastic bag on your head. I wore it once in NYC where the temperature was 90 degrees plus. Head perspiration was unbearable. Unfortunately, I exceeded the maximum 30 day eligibility for returns. I wore it today Jun 12 on the 32nd day after delivery.

Chances are high that this hat will not fit you properly. It is made in China. They use centimetere insterad of inches for sizing. Moreoevr, they made this hat with a range of centimeters and put a velcro piece at the back of the hat so you can adjust the size. If you do, the hat fits terrible and you have a space at the back that you can slide your finger into. American made hats were always sized precisely. They were 7, 7 1/8, 7 1/4, etc. The Chinese have no clue on how to size a hat! You can send it back to Amazon if you have the time and patience - so be prepared. I have no time for this crap. I was happy to cut the hat in half and dump it in the garbage and imagine that I lost the cost of this over priced piece of junk in a slot machine. I will never buy a Chinese product again. I got what I deserved. And the hat is very thin material that does not hold its shape. I needed this color so I went for it. It's listed at four times of what it's worth! A veritable piece of crap!

It feels like the fibers are full of plastic, poor materials. The hat is just OK and looks OK but nothing I would buy again.

Love the hat. It fits perfectly, love the look, am getting compliments from strangers. My only complaint was the packaging. It was shipped in a plastic bag (instead of a protective box) and placed in my mailbox. This resulted in a small dent. Was able to mostly smooth it out and it looks ok, but could have been prevented with better packaging.

The product arrived on schedule, as promised, with Prime free shipping. The hat is nicely made, the fit was very close to my head-size. I easily fine-tuned the fit with the Velcro closure under the sweatband. The adjustment band allows for about an inch of tightening and about a half inch of enlarging band size. I wore this hat in the full sun for two days in a row, then went in the sun one full afternoon without it. I was much more comfortable in the hot sun, wearing this hat. This is a classy hat, casual but handsome.

I have never had anything delivered in such bad shape as these two hats I ordered my husband!! They were so squished and wrinkled you could not straighten them our!!!!

This is a really nice hat, fits perfectly, feels very light (great for warm weather conditions) and appears more expensive than the price tag. Will be purchasing other colors.

I really love the adjustable strings in the rim of the hat! It looks like one of those expensive designer fedora hats that you would see at a kiosk in the malls, but way cheaper!
