Before I bought this I read all the reviews. This phone holder has two versions: plastic and metal. I decided to buy the metal version becsuse there were bad reviews about the accompanying Square Jellyfish Pocket Tripod base (sold separately), saying that the screw on the bottom of it destroys easily the holder if it's unsctued a couple of times and renders it useless. So I bought both parts in the metal version. The design is really nice and the phone on it sits well. The reason I'm only giving 3 starts to the holder (and 5 stars to the Square Jellyfish Pocket Tripod base) is because the screw on the back of it is PLASTIC and got destroyed less than 2 days after I received it. You would think reading the reviews the manufacturer would have figured it out already, but no - they've got a plastic screw even on the metal version. Luckilly for me I was able to find a metal screw to match in my local Home Depot and it worked well, but that screwed the design concept. When you buy a product you should not be expected to go find replacement parts to make it work and last more than a day. Initially I was excited about this phone tripod and thought this would be the perfect Christmas gift to my friends and colleagues, but I won't be buying this unless the manufacturer changes the screw on the back of the holder to all metal (that means the nut metal as well).

There are a lot of phone tripod holders out there but most are quite poorly made. This is a sturdy mount that's well designed and provides confidence your device isn't going anywhere. Well, I let a friend borrow it and they managed to lose the thumbscrew on the back that holds the mount. Took a chance on messaging Square Jellyfish (the company that makes this) asking if I could get a thumb screw. No problem!A few days later a box arrives that's a lot bigger than a tiny thumbscrew I expected to see in a standard shipping envelope. Sent me a brand new mount and – one for the car that mounts to the vent! I thought it was a mistake, but no, these people are fantastic and went above and beyond to rescue me from my predicament when they didn't have to.This is what amazing CX is about.

They recently merged the plastic and metal product pages together, so some of the reviews here are on the plastic version, and some are on the metal version. This review is on the METAL version, but it looks like most of the top-voted reviews are on the plastic version. Be aware.The metal version fits my tripods well. It holds my phone securely and safely using rubber inserts. The plastic version of this mount is very highly rated, but one flaw the reviews mention is the plastic is soft and the threads strip out if you use the mount a lot. This metal version addresses that issue by giving you an aluminum frame that seems quite durable.I tested using an iPhone 6 in a Caseology Bumper Frame case. TIP: If you run the Compass app, then swipe to the second page, you will find a level indicator that you can use to make sure your camera is level before you take the picture! Also, the iPhone 6 does time delayed pictures in burst mode, so you can choose the one that came out best afterwards. :-)Love this mount!

Not happy with my purchase after only a couple months of owning this product, the hinges of the clips that hold the phone started to crack and break. This is my second Square Jellyfish product and the same thing happened to the first one.I haven't tried contacting Square Jellyfish through their website however they have not responded to my inquiry.I really like the concept of this product but the materials they use are just not strong enough to last over limited use.I have attached a photo of the cracked hinge.

This is what I needed for my gorillapod, and this thing is sturdy! Get the metal one. I have no experience with the plastic version, but it's worth the extra bucks to get the metal version. This works great, and holds my iPhone 6s Plus with a case on it without any issues.

I don’t like selfies and I like group pictures. This solves those problems, whether quick family picture or an adventure group shot.I like this because it’s simple and light. It’s easy to throw in a bag or backpack hip pocket. I use it hiking, floating rivers, fishing as well as around the house.

I had previously bought another phone-mount that was not deep enough, could not grip my Moto X Pure properly, and eventually the phone dropped off a few times! Ouch! Then I bought this one, and i'm very pleased. Metal mount is solid, and nice, allow rotation, and the spring-loaded grip is just right. Easy to load and unload, grips firmly and won't let go. Highly recommended, and worth spending a few extra dollars on.

This is such a cool little add-on for a tripod. I can now mount a phone to anything with a 1/4-20 screw mount. It's solidly built and very durable. A lot of nicely machined parts. I carry it with me in my work bag with a small tripod. It's helped with night shots as well as some group shots v. the typical group selfies.

I was delighted to find this. I have the older model which doesn’t tilt, so I know I will get years out of it. Just be gentle with the phone clasp.

Lo mejor es la rotula con su bola de giro. Puedes adaptarla a cualquier otro tripode mas serio y con mas posibilidades.Sus patas estan bien para escritorio o para llevarlas contigo a todos los sitios. Los muelles de la pinza sujetan con seguridad el telefono. Sin duda volveria a comprarlo.

La montura es sólida, buena calidad de construcción. La he usado más de un año y no ha perdido fuerza de agarre.El tamaño es óptimo para llevarlo a todos lados sin que sea una molestia. Muy recomendable, probablemente el mejor de su tipo por el precio.
