I recently bought a new parasol which was larger and heavier than my existing round concrete base could comfortably deal with in strong breezes. This weight bag looked to be a cost effective way of continuing to use the existing base safely.I filled it with builders sand which made the bag very heavy indeed. It fits perfectly on top of my existing base and around the vertical pole. The new parasol is now fully stable and doesn't pose a topple or fall danger in gusts of breeze or wind.Because of the weight when filled with sand it's not that easy to move around, I'd worry about the strength of the seams and handles if it needed to be picked up regularly. However, I don't need to move the base around and the material is sturdy enough that I am happy to leave it outside, in place, year round.

I wanted something to hold my parasol in place but needed to be able to change position from my patio to my decking and this works great.It's made of high quality material.It's easy to fill.Fits around the parasol pole and on the base with ease.It has velcro along 2 edges and has a strap clip to keep it closed.It is heavy to move so keeps parasol in place no problem.I am happy with my purchase just need the weather now to be able to sit out and enjoy it.

This works brilliantly. My mum has a large sunshade in a heavy iron base, but the shade is so large that even the lightest breath of wind will pull it over - extremely dangerous. I didn't even know these existed and when I saw it I thought I would give it a try - just to see. When I first got it I thought it might be too small, but actually once you have it filled it's large and very heavy. It says to fill with sand but we had some spare shingle that we use on the flower beds which worked just as well. The base fits tightly and sits on the iron base we put the sunshade into normally. There is no way for the shade to topple over in the breeze any more and I would highly recommend this addition to anyone with the same problems.

This product is not going to last long I bought it in June 23, and by October noticed a split, yesterday 12th May it totally split and contents spilled out. It stayed in the same place all this time until yesterday, we tried to move it using the handles, and it split wide open. I would hope to have at least a years warranty on it, but yet to find out.

I bought this item to hold down the base of a cantilever umbrella having purchased a similar item in the past which is still going strong. THe base already has weights but this item was bought to supplement them.In my opinion the idea is good the product is NOT. I filled it with sand below the max and set it in place in May. Two of us moved it slightly in July and it ripped on top. I could live with that as the sand stayed in.The base needed moving again today (28 July 24) so two of us moved it carefully today. It ripped again, this time in a place where the sand pours out so i have had to resort to sand in a rubble sack!I would suggest thhat if you buy this you have to put it in place and leave it as any movement seems to strain the fabric and stitches.

I bought this for my whirligig to stop it toppling over in the wind and it works perfectly. It is very well made and easy to fill, I bought a large bag of builders sand £3 from B&Q and the bag held the exact amount of sand to fill this up.

Not used yet . Didn't come how I expected.

This black sandbag weight is large and well-made using a polyester material and reinforced stitching. It is very easy and quick to set up. Reinforced handles make them less likely to rip when moving when full of sand. The large filling opening uses velcro so even if sand gets on the opening it will still close as opposed to a zip closure. When filled the strap helps keep its shape and backs up the velcro attachments keeping it together. Can be emptied so that it can be stored flat when not needed.
