Q: Is the ehaust port 8"? I need to know how big of layflat ducting I'll need.

It is 7 1/2. An 8inches duct would work as long as you have a clamp.

Q: Can I use for an asbestos?

Q: What's the difference between this and the green colored model other than the price?

If the green one is the same size air scrubber, the 550, then there is no difference. I did not find a green one that was a different price. There is a 770 that is like a teal color, I think, and it is a higher price. It can move a greater amount of air so that would be why there is a price difference on it. I hope this helps.

Q: We have massive fires in our area in Colorado, would this unit be good for taking airborne smoke out of the interior of our homes?

i have not used it to treat smoke. however, it is a very powerful unit and it takes paint smell out of the house completely the same day that i painted. i can only assume that it will remove any smell. good luck.
