I was a little apprehensive purchasing this butter bell because I was not accustomed to keeping butter out of the refrigerator 24/7. Well now that I've had it for a few months I can say that I totally LOVE it! It is so nice to have fresh spreadable butter at my fingertips. It does take a little dedication to clean and set the butter into the bell but it's worth it. I never had any issues with the butter falling out and I change the water every day or two. I definitely recommend it.

I had wanted to try keeping butter out of the refrigerator for some time, but I'd been a bit wary. So I read about butter bells somewhere (I can't remember where) and bought this one. It looks nice in my red-accented kitchen, keeps the butter fresh (allegedly for two weeks, but the butter never lasts that long, so I can't say for sure) and soft enough to spread easily. The only thing you have to do is pack the butter firmly into the bell and change the water in the bottom every couple of days. This butter bell is easy to wash, too, between fillings of butter.

I saw someone on social media using one of these and I was, like, HOW does it keep the butter fresh?! Well, I don't know how it does, but it does. Since I received mine I have decided I simply cannot live without it - ever! I love butter. Real butter in the stick. But, taking it out of the fridge cold and putting on your toast just doesn't work - too hard to spread. The spreadable butters in the tubs that are soft just don't taste as good as REAL butter. Enter the Butter Ball. I admit, I was skeptical. I live where it is VERY hot - how could the butter not melt and drip? Well, it didn't. It is perfectly soft and will last for up to 3 weeks (a stick doesn't last me that long anyway). You simply soften a stick of butter by leaving it out an hour or 2, the smooth it into the Butter Ball (a stick fits to perfection). Then you fill the bottom part with exactly 1/3 cup COLD water (I change the water every other day per the instructions). And, you always have perfectly, delicious, soft butter. I am SO unbelievably happy with this purchase. Seriously, can't live without it now! p.s. I was told to buy this ORIGINAL one, not a knockoff. It was $25, a little pricey, but well worth it. It is even pretty - a very white ceramic - makes a nice gift. Love.
