I bought this monitor mainly to use it with Samsung Dex and for mirroring my laptop. Haven't had any connection problems. The very thin bezels and lightweight design make it easy to carry around. The 4K display is sharp and the colors look good. One thing that's really great about this monitor is how bright it gets. I usually keep it around 30-40% for indoor use. It's perfect for watching videos and reading text since everything looks crisp. The speakers are pretty weak but that's expected for something this thin. I just use headphones anyway so it's not a big deal to me. Would've been nice if they included a battery so you could use it without being tethered to a power source. If this thing also had touchscreen OLED 120hz display, it'd be the perfect portable monitor. Would like to see that on future Newsoul monitors. Customer support has also been really quick to respond with issues I had with the monitor. For the price point it's a solid choice compared to other portable monitors out there. Would recommend it.

I’m got this Newsoul 16” 4K portable monitor. The brightness really stands out — the screen stays clear and vibrant even in bright rooms or near windows. The 4K resolution contrast make text crisp and colors rich, which is great for spreadsheets, documents, streaming, and light gaming. The screen reduces glare and has wide viewing angles. Setup was easy with USB-C (plug and play with my laptop). It’s slim, lightweight, and easy to carry in a bag, making it perfect for travel or working remotely. Overall, an excellent portable monitor with outstanding brightness and image quality.

This review is my user experience regarding to Newsoul Portable 4K 16" Monitor (Model #: M1620). It is as described with high brightness, an Aluminum Alloy Shell, excellent contrast, immersive viewing experience, and lightweight, as well as plug-and-play. It connects and works with my 2024 14" MacBook Pro M4 Pro, but it doesn't connect with my iPhone 14. The small Power On/Off Button, and the small Pulley Button for setting are not intuitive to use. You have to read the instruction manual first to understand how the buttons function, such as what a long press or a short press will do. I note that I can use just a single USB-C cable connecting the monitor to my MacBook Pro and to make the monitor working. However, if you want great user experience, such as sufficient speaker volume, and brighter screen, you do need the 30W Power Adapter and the other USB-C cable for additional power. The PU magnetic case works ok both as a protecting case and as a supporting stand. But the case as a stand, will take quite a desk surface space. I'm glad that I'm using a desk top mini tripod stand instead to support this lightweight monitor. You can set the monitor to different aspect ratios. Aspect Ratio 16:10 is what I want to match with the aspect ratio of my MacBook Pro. Update: after 5 months, a small crack occurred at a corner although I don't count it as a quality issue. I just had a replacement with UPERFECT 4K 16" 1200 Nits Portable Monitor (model: 16006DD), which appears to be exactly the same model as Newsoul Portable 4K 16" Monitor (Model #: M1620) except the packing box printed with different brand name.

I bought this monitor because it claimed to be bright, and I wanted something that would pair well with my 5K iMac display, which is one of the better panels out there. I had a similar 16" 2560x1600 monitor that I used with my other Mac setup and wanted something at least as good. This edition (4K, 3840x2400, 1200 nits) appears to be a well made product. It comes up as 1920x1200 on the Mac (3840x2400 becomes 1920x1200 due to quad pixel density), which is a good size for readability and very sharp. I use it as a secondary screen for reading a lot of code and text, and the readability is very good, with sharp text on a deep black background. I use the USB-C cable to my Mac, and that provides both power and connectivity. A right angle USB cable helps make the monitor look better. It does flash a poorly worded message at startup that I believe may be related to less than full power from a single USB-C cable but it goes away in a few seconds. It does not flicker and is plenty bright. I run it at 70% brightness and it is similar in brightness to my Mac display, though I run the Mac at about 70% brightness also. This is not an HDR display (does not even have HRD as an option). Minor complaint: It is a little thicker than some of the portable monitors that are out there, but I don't use it for that purpose. In general, this is a strong choice. Also, it appears to be made by the same factory in China that make the UPerfect brand of monitors because the box, packaging and internal cables look identical.

-Too Long Didn’t Read Summary- I am happy with this monitor. The device has worked well after my 1 week of testing. I would have no issues with recommending it to friends & family. -About Me- I am tech person who is picky about my devices, I do not buy junk or stuff that does not work. I call a spade a spade, if something is a bad product I will say so. If something is junk I get rid of it, I don’t need clutter. This is my 3rd external monitor I have used so I am familiar with these types of devices. -Thoughts on this monitor- >> I will just be talking about how the monitor functions. The overall value can depend on the price and prices can very by country + time year. >> The device came neatly packaged. I am familiar with this company’s products so I knew how the device behaved but I would strongly encourage new users to fully read the instructions before getting started. >> The device worked flawless with my Dell XPS 15 9510. I used it for desk work. Over the course of this past week I used it for desk work 2 – 3 hours a day. >> I did not test it for gaming as I do not use 4k for video games. >> I was happy to see my settings were preserved when my laptop awoke from sleep mode and on system restarts, this is something that has been an issue for me with other devices. >> I did not test the color accuracy but it looks good to me. The screen can get very bright if you want it to but I kept it at mid brightness only as to not hurt my eyes. >> The device is lightweight and will easily fit in my regular backpack. I do plan to purchase a sleeve to protect it as I do for most of my devices. >> I was very happy with the improvements to the device’s menu when compared to a previous model that I purchased with my own money >> It comes with VESA mounting + the hardware to do so but I did not use it >> I did not experience any device flickering >> It does have a built in speaker, its basic, it works, I stuck with my built in Dell XPS speakers because they sound better. I did not have high expectations for the speaker but it met my expectations.
