Great saw
Great hand saw for ripping. The handle will require a bit of work to fit my hand better. It’s a good saw and good value

Great saw for the price, but...
I don't know where to start besides to say I got what I payed for and mostly what I expected. The saw saw has a nice taper ground blade and the hardness seems to be good when compared to my other premium and vintage saws. The teeth are nicely formed and surprisingly well sharpened for the price. The handle is less than desirable but that can be seen clearly from the picture and is a key point on every forum that mentions the saws branded as Pax, Lynx, and Crown. Where this saw lost stars and I was a little surprised was that the set to the teeth was so bad that it was not even usable out of the box. When I measured the curf of the blade it averaged .074-.075. On a saw plate that is .035 thick the absolute max curf 200% is .070 so this saw came with a gap between the teeth of .005-.010. This means that of the .075 kerf being cut 5-10% of it was not touching the cutting edge of the saw. So after I reduced the kerf to about .049-.050 approx 140% (for hardwood) of plate thickness this saw cuts fast and tracks strait. Finally to the handle I wanted to make a replacement handle from walnut but after removing the saw screws I could not git it to move even with a mallet. I had to remove it with a chisel in pieces. When they drilled the holes they more or less burned threw leaving a rough flared area on the saw plate that will not come out of the handle. All that said it is a beautiful clean sawplate no rust or bends and good steel. Now it looks and cuts like a $200-$300 saw

Reasonably priced compared to competitors
It’s hard to find panel saws this big, with such big teeth, sharpened specifically for ripping. The only other options I found were even more expensive. I’m not the best at resawing boards by hand but the saw seems to work well.

Not very good
Flimsy. Drifts/follows grain. My grandfather's Mound City No. MO 100 if a far better hand saw.

Good saw, needs a bit of tuning.
saw works great once tuned. My first cut was far from straight. To get it to cut true you need to do 2 things. First check and correct any bends in the blade. And second get a saw tooth setting tool and set the teeth. Setting the teeth alone will fix most if not all of your problems. The saw is comfortable in the hand and is about as heavy as you would expect for a saw this size. The tooth profile is on the aggressive side, so be aware of that. I did have a bit of stickiness on my first cuts, but once the teeth were set I had not a single problem with the saw sticking. The saw does have some kind of clear coat for protection. I didn't bother taking it off the clear coat, but you may want to if you don't want to offset the teeth as much as I did.All in all its a good rough ripping saw.

Nice saw
The tooth set was a little much so I tapped the saw teeth very lightly with a ballpeen hammer on my flat table saw... did the trick started cutting way better.
