Castor & Pollux Natural Ultramix Adult Dry Dog Food, 5.5 Pound Bag

I have been feeding Castor & Pollux products, to my dogs for years now and they have loved them all especially the cookies. But this stuff, not so much.I had a hard time switching them over to it. It took longer than normal or what should be necessary. I knew I had a problem.They loved picking the pieces of dried fruit and veggies out and eat them. If the whole bag had been just that they would have been happy campers. But no, they stuck their nose up at the kibble and never really grew to like it. If one won't eat it the other sure won't ! A monkey see monkey do kind of thing.When I finally swiched to C&P Ultramix Weight Management they loved it. The difference ? Not a great deal. The Ultramix Adult is a darker kibble of the same size and of course a few minor ingredient changes. The main difference I noticed was the Adult was a much stronger smelling food than the weight management. The first time I opened it I thought wow the dogs will love this stuff. You know how dogs love stinky stuff. Well, not all stinky stuff like Ultramix Adult Dry Dog Food ! That is really the main difference I could obviously tell between the two. The Weight Management has a definate odor also but it is a milder and not so over powering one. If you check the packages there really isn't that much major difference in ingredients. It is more of how much and how it is formulated to what you are trying to accomplish with your protien, fat,calories& carbs.I rated this a 3 stars because my dogs only like the dehydrated fruits and veggies and two even though they didn't like it. I have full confidence that it is a quality product and my dogs are way too picky ! That is what happens when a dog sits on a queens lap for 1500 years. They get spoiled rotten !

Finally I found a food that doesn't give my 1 year old Giant Schnauzer diarrhea. I have a 7 year old mini schnauzer who is very picky and has bad teeth, but always enjoyed Blue Buffalo, but poor Conrad had upset tummy every few days. So I switched him to Diamond brand, same deal. We tried probiotics, pumpkin, rice but nothing worked. A friend has the most beautiful boxer and told me about Ultramix so I decided to give it a whirl. Both dogs gobble it up! In fact I think I will have to get a "slow down" feeder for Conrad. His stool hasn't been loose since which makes us both happy! :) yay! Yes, it is a bit pricey but I love my dogs and care for them as I do my 5 children so I want their diet to be the best it can be. I do super saver shipping and have it auto shipped each month which also saves a few bucks. Very pleased!! Well, it’s difficult for me to comment on the flavor of dog food so I think that’s rather funny criteria to review but my dog licks his chops when he’s done so I’ll have to give it 5 stars on his behalf. It’s pricey but my dog has been eating it for 5 years and he’s really healthy! So we give it a PAWS UP!

I didn't notice that the description of this was incorrect (0CTL9 Castor & Pollux AS-2087247-2 12 lb (Pack of 2) Organic Healthy Adult Cat Food) but the picture is of dog food, and thought I was getting 2 bags of dog food, but only received one 5.5 lb bag. I did want the dog food, and my dogs have been eating this food as long as we have had them and they love it! Highly recommend this food, but check the description to make sure you are getting what you want.

This has everything in it that my Jack Russell miniature needs for good health! Unfortunately they discontinue the salmon flavor that my dog needed! She has seizures and salmon was the one ingredients she needs to control seizures

My lab loves this food and it appears to be good ingredients. However its on of this highest priced dog food and also the hardest to find. I have waited for many weeks to be able to get the large bag.

After a episode where my dog stopped eating and drinking, I was advised to find a better quality dog food and I found this Caster and Pollux brand, which, although more expensive, suits him better. Eats every crumb.

Great source of nutrition and the added cranberry support, freeze-dried peas, and banana chips.
