Awesome Carafe
I drink a lot of coffee, but I don't like old coffee. This carafe keeps my coffee fresh and warm so I can drink it over time, and it stays great tasting. Pre heat with hot water before use and you will not be disappointed.

Superbly designed thermos
We have used it for almost two weeks now. It's deceptively small in size and cleverly designed. We use it for holding hot tea each morning as I need my tea to be boiling hot. We drink it all fast (in half an hour or so), because black tea with milk tends to get "cooked" when left inside a flask for longer than that. Which means I have not tested how long a beverage can stay hot for and at what temperatures. In the 30 to 35 minutes we take to drink all the tea from this flask, there is no noticeable drop in temperature.A previous flask from Thermos would ensure beverages stayed hot for 24 hours. This product is by the same company and seems to have the same solid build quality, so I would not be surprised if it gave you hours and hours of beverages staying hot inside it!Highly recommend it.

Some like it hot . . .
We just bought ours last week. This was a bit of a surprise because of its size - very small compared to insulated carafes using conventional technology. But, after all, shape determines surface area and the closer to a sphere you get the less surface area you have across which to exchange heat. A good thing. But I was somewhat skeptical about the insulating properties of its all metal design. Here is what I found:Rinse and fill carafe with boiling water. Ambient temp 72 F.Temperature at filling: 211 F (We live close to sea level.)1 hr 15 min: 200 F2 hrs 15 min: 194.9 F3 hrs 15 min: 189.9 F6 Hrs: 177.3 FBut who fills a carafe with boiling water? I rinsed the carafe with hot tap water (138.8F). More like what I'd actually do. I took coffee from our old Krups coffee maker which holds it at 175 F on its hot plate and filled the carafe about 3/4 full.Temperature at filling: 173.0 Ambient temperature 72 F.2 hrs: 166.1 F3 hrs: 160.87 hrs 15 min: 136.9 FThis heat retention performance is excellent in my estimation, keeping coffee in the drinkable temperature range for up to six or seven hours. Much better than the glass lined carafe we had. Of course, some like it hot and some like it hotter. So I thought it would be helpful to see numbers.

Lid broke
Disappointed. The top piece of the top detached after 49 days. Earlier I described it as: Very comfortable handle. Great to use to make tea. Keeps it hot very well. But it makes strange noises. Very quiet twittering sounds. I think it has to do with the seal.

this is a great little carafe
With slight modification, this is a great little carafe. Very compact and lightweight. I prewarm with hot tap water and it keeps the coffee at the same temp for hours, at least 3, and is still warm the next morning if any is left. Drawback is that the lid seal is way too tight and the lid itself is too small to get a good grip. The gasket could be a random quality control issue and I thought it was just me since I have tendonitis but it was also very difficult for others when asked to try it. I requested a return on this item because I simply could not turn the lid, even with no heat vacuum. The company was very helpful with suggestions and then refunded me the purchase price and told me to donate or throw away the item. Since they didn't want it back I decided to try to fix it. I shaved a minor amount of the gasket off, all the way around, and can now open and close it normally without sacrificing it's seal. I brew a 10 cup pot, fill two 8 oz cups and the rest just fits in here perfectly.

Why Wait!!!
Waited years to buy one of these, no reason, just got used to our coffee 'system'; make coffee, pour a cup to drink asap, pour rest into Yeti mug, pour coffee from Yeti into cup as desired, wipe up coffee spillage as Yeti was never meant to be a carafe. Then, while Amazon shopping, finally remembered this silly coffee routine & bought a proper carafe. Oh happy days, this 34 oz (holds 4 cups) little Thermos carafe is awesome! Perfect for our needs, keeps coffee pretty hot about 4 hrs. & warm about 8 hrs., not bad. Looks stylish & sleek sitting on the counter, cleans easily, love this little gem!
